‘’We are moulded by and re-moulded by those who have loved us; and though the love may pass, we are nevertheless their work for good or ill’’ ( Francois Mairlac) 1. Explain the sequence of development that would normally be expected in children and young people from birth to -19 years.Children have certain basic, physical and psychological needs and if these needs are not met then growth psychological developmental will be distorted in many ways. Everyone needs shelter, food, water, warmth and not to mention grooming and hygiene, activities which are laid down in Maslow’s hierarchy of basic need. If they are neglected or unfulfilled then this will have an adverse effect and may delay the child’s development stage. As children grow older they should have opportunities to learn from experiences and to make mistakes. Adding to that, they need to take responsibility for their own behaviour and increasing independence in personal, social and money matters and just a sense of thoughtfulness for others.Erikson psychosocial theory of development has eight stages, each stage us named and has ‘’two opposed outcomes; the first one refers to the positive eg.trust. The second one is negative dysfunctional eg., mistrust. He also sees development as proceeding throughout our lifecycle. Erikson believes that the interaction between the individual and the social environment produces the eight stages of which they centre in a development crisis. In addition each child will have individual needs, unique to itself. 2.2 Analyse the difference between sequence of development and rate of Development and why the distinction is important. Opportunities to make helpful contributions to daily living at home or in a social group. Children who have suffered physical or emotional abuse neglect or who have had inconsistent primary carers become very confused not knowing how to interpret their…

I have enjoyed tutoring students through the Literacy Corps for nearly two years. The program has helped push me outside of my comfort zone by leading and teaching students. Every week at a nearby elementary school, I tutor children from kindergarten to sixth grade as a part of their YMCA after school care program. Typically, I work with the same group of students to finish their math homework, work on a project for social studies, or help them sound out new words. By watching them thrive in a positive environment and develop a love for learning, they constantly teach me new things. After being at school all day and dealing with ample amounts of stress, their innocent and bright minds cause me to ground myself and realize what is at the core of all of my hard work in academics: a thirst for knowledge. Perhaps the most rewarding thing has been witnessing them improve dramatically, such as being able to read a word with ease that we sounded out multiple times the previous week, with a smile on their face and a new sense of confidence and accomplishment. Steadfastly teaching them that by working hard and not giving up they can reach their goals, it leaves me with such a proud feeling when I see them putting it into action. Tutoring has been a two-way street: the children have impacted my life in a positive and meaningful way just like I have impacted…

Life is a journey that is traveled by many, however, not everyone gets to experience the fruits of their labor. Throughout the school year, I volunteer at my middle school and tutor students of all ages, ranging from first to eight grades. Each one of my students has grown into intelligent thinkers; curious about the world around them. Since I have been volunteering from a young ripe age of 13, surrounding myself with children creates a deep connection. I believe that it is my duty to aid and support them as they mature into improved readers and thinkers. In addition, by understanding their struggles, I am able to provide my students with feedback that will help them excel in that subject.…
When I was a little girl and now, I always wanted to specialize in teaching younger kids and help them out. My career choice of being Early Childhood Education really fits me, since I for once love being around kids and being around them. I feel like it helps me attach to them. I’ve been more happy to be around kids if i’m down or just out of the blue bored. The kids can teach you anything that you might have not notice and can make your whole day better than what it was. By analyzing in Early Childhood Education, it has revealed that it suits my ESFJ personality and Tactile learning style, and my learning and listening skills; however, I will have to improve on my attitude, listening, and make more time for the things that are important than rushing to be all the way career ready.…

My main reason for applying for Early Childhood Education is because I love children. I love working with them. I come from a bigger family. I am the oldest out of five children. I would take care of them all from time to time when ever my parents would go out for a night. Sometimes my parents would leave overnight to go on a little vacation by themselves and I would watch my siblings overnight. I also use to babysit for other people around our community as I was growing up. As I got older and started to think about college, I knew that I wanted to attend a great school that would have a program for Education.…
It is my personal belief that the purposes of education are to enable students as fully as possible to choose and eventually realize their individual path through life as adults. I also believe in whole child education which strives to teach heart, body, and mind connection. I believe that imaginative and practical, hands-on work is the best way to promote this type of holistic learning.…
