I was unaware that even in low-income countries there is an issue with obesity. This is a worldwide epidemic. Having a plan that will help children live longer and healthier lives is paramount and having the parents actually care what their children eat and do is important. It is interesting that Kar states that one of the places that should be promoting good eating habits and physical activity is schools. Children are in school 60% of the time and should be a place of teaching good habits. Even though parents play a role in how children eat and what they do, it is still not enough.
