Understand what is required for competence in own work role
1) Describe the duties and responsibilities of own role?
It’s very important for me to know what my manager is expected from me .My responsibility is to know my own duties and rules. Job description must be the first thing I need to look at and have a good knowledge about it.
Showing my ability to learn new skills is very important to success in interviews. Continuing personal development is essential to ensure that I completed all my duties and responsibilities at work.
2) Identify standards that influence the way the role is carried out?
All early years setting have to meet a required standard to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the setting and in order to do so they start to build their own policies, procedures and regulations that they must follow to meet a required standard for good practice.
It’s very important to be aware of all the laws, regulation and rules because it will influence my own role. Here is example of these regulation and laws:-
1- Code of practice:-
It is the internal policies and procedures for any setting and it’s very important to have access to these policies.
2- Regulation:-
It is all the rules and government laws and acts including health and safety at work act and children act 2004 which are both come under these regulations. Safeguarding, child protection, be healthy and stay safe at work are all aims of this regulations.
3- National minimum standard :-
Such as welfare requirement and it have five requirements to be met such as promoting children welfare, suitable people, suitable premises, environment and equipment and organisation.
4- National occupational standard:-
It has been developed to identify the skills, knowledge and understanding required by practitioner.
