Chris McCandless home life didn’t seem bad at first, but you have to dig deeper than the surface to see what the problem was. McCandless family was a wealthy family, he also had both his parents and his sister that he loved, that was the surface the problem was that McCandless father had another family. The reason why is because even through hard times Moriarity never gave up, and he just kept on trying throughout the whole movie. McCandless is also appealing but not as much as Moriarity because he just ran away from his problems he didn’t really face them, but I will give him credit for being extremely brave and getting out there and doing something he loves which was awesome. They were both similar in a lot of ways but also different in home life, the way of their death's, and their role models. Similar because they both had problems with their fathers, the both passed away at a young age with a bad death, and they both had someone they loooked up to a really long time, and thought they were amazing. They differed because McCandless grew up with all his family being there and being in a wealthy family while Moriarity grew up without a father and being poor, they both died in different ways with different climates, and Moriarity's role model was there for him, while McCandless never met his role
