The Human Resources Profession Map consists of 10 HR professional areas including (Organization design, Organization development, Leading and managing the human resources function, Strategy, Insights and solutions, Service delivery and information, Resourcing and talent planning “also known as Recruitment and selection”, Employee engagement, Performance and reward “also known as Compensation and benefits”, Employee relations and Learning and talent development ”also known as Training and development”. In addition to that, the Human Resources Map includes 8 behaviors, which HR practitioners needs to have to carry out their activities, the map includes what you need to do (the activity), what you need to know (knowledge) and how you need to do that particular activity (the behavior), each one of these areas are also divided into four bands with regards to the knowledge and skills of the HR practitioner.
The 2 key professional areas:
1) Strategy, Insights and solutions:
This is one of the core professional areas, as it is important for every organization to plan its own strategy, the strategy will be based on setting KPI’s, setting goals and objectives that needs to be achieved on a short-term and long-term basis, identifying any issues arising in the organization and making the right decision to solve it within a proper time frame, using SWOT analysis as a strategic planning technique.
2) Leading and Managing:
This is another core professional area; the HR practitioner must know and understand the organization’s goals and needs in order to be able to assist the organization to reach its goals and fulfill its needs, this can be achieved through the various HR activities such as recruiting, performance management and training & development.
The 8 behaviors:
1) Curious: ask questions & seek improvement and development to do things better.
2) Decisive thinker: get to the point quickly and make the right decision.
3) Skilled influencer: the ability to make other
