1. Write a composition using one of the topics listed below. Your composition needs to be three to five paragraphs long. It must contain an introduction, a body, and a conclusion.
a. Argue for or against the limitation of speed limits. In American society today, there are numerous laws designed to protect all citizens. One such law is having a speed limit. This requires motorists to drive reasonably and consider the conditions and potential hazards, regardless of what the speed limit signs say. As the automobile demands grew, the streets and highways expanded throughout the US, lawmakers created speed limits. On thee another hand, some citizens believe with modern day road materials and current automotive technologies, cars can safely exceed the legal limits set on almost every road in the United States. But, endless amount of studies and researches proves that having a speed limit can save lives, not to mention money.
b. Explain why a certain sport is your favorite. If you had to choose your favorite sport, what would you choose?
For me the answer to that question is easy. Basketball. My life basically has revolved around basketball since the first time I ever saw Michael
Jordan dunk. Playing basketball, to me, is the biggest stress reliever I have tried. When I get on the court it's almost like the world is at a stand still and I'm the only one playing.
c. Compare and contrast driving in the winter and driving in the summer.
New drivers may believe that driving an automobile is similar in every season, but experienced motorists are likely to know that winter and summer offer different pleasures and challenges. The most obvious distinctions between the seasons are the temperature, precipitation and amount of daylight. Each of these variables can change driving conditions dramatically. Indeed, some drivers even refrain from driving in certain weather. Fortunately, both seasons do have advantages so drivers can enjoy the road if they respect the effects of different seasons.
Summer heat is cause for caution. Drivers must beware of blinding sun and take care to use sunglasses or pull down visors. Hot, humid weather may also cause windshields to fog up. Using air conditioning to maintain comfortable environment for passengers and pets is also often sensible. Parents may also find melted crayons or plastic toys if the car is left in the heat too long. On the other hand, leaving the air conditioning on too long can even cause the car to overheat. Additionally, the temptation to take long drives may lead to driver fatigue. All of these potential hazards mean drivers should be careful driving in the summer.

d. Analyze the best way to buy a car, mow a lawn, or prepare a meal. Before buying your New Car, you should consider some other factors, such as depreciation and insurance. Cars tend to lose value once it leaves the car dealership. As times goes on the car is worth less. Insurance for a New Car is mandatory. Although insurance may be higher on a New Vehicle, if involved in an accident it may be too expensive to fix. That is where the insurance comes in to play.
e. Describe a memorable day in your life.
On any given day I could do anything I wanted because I could drive. I could feel the textures of the roads, smell the fresh air when my windows were down, see the beautiful terrain that I drove through and I could hear any type of musical tunes I wanted to. I felt as if I was on top of the world with my drivers' license. What more could I ask for at such a young age of only 16 years old? My drivers' license brought me great feelings and let me do more with my life than I could ever do before. As well as giving me those feelings and that type of freedom, having my drivers' license opened up a new image of the community for me.
2. Write a letter of complaint Follow the rules for a business letter, and use the full-block style. The complaint may be about anything you wish (such as malfunctioning equipment, poor building maintenance, or disruptive noises from a nearby business). You can base your letter on a true experience, or you can make up all the details you need.

Dear Mrs. Lesli:
Recently we had your company do some floral decorating in our office. We received a number of fresh flower bouquets, six dry flower wreaths, four swags and eight large tropical plants. All of the products we receive were beautiful. We were to have received ten large tropical plants though. We also were overcharged.
When we first contracted your company, we had agreed on the number of items we were to receive and we also agreed on the price of eleven hundred and fifty dollars ($1150). This price was to include: 10 fresh exotic floral bouquets, six dry flower wreaths, four dry flower swags and ten large tropical plants in clay pots. Everything arrived except the two large plants. When we checked our bill, we were charged for all the plants (including the two we did not receive) AND the total was twelve hundred and fifty

I have phoned your accounts receivable department repeatedly. I am told they will look after it, but I continue to receive past due notices with the threat of court action. I believe we can come to a positive solution. Merely have the correct bill sent to me AND have the final plants delivere dollars ($1250), not the price you had quoted us. In the article “Auto Liberation,” by author Brent Knutson, he discusses his reasoning as to why “American speed limits are unnecessarily restrictive, but also they infringe on the personal freedoms of American citizens” (Knutson 620). In other words he claims that American speed limits violate our freedom. Knutson’s main argument is mostly based off of his experience while driving in Germany. “On Germany’s autobahns, people normally drive in excess of 80 miles per hour. Yet, these German superhighways are the safest in the world, filled with German drivers who are skilled, competent, and courteous” (Knutson 619). Knutson continues to argue that people are manipulated by auto insurances that speed skills. Whereas Knutson claims that it is not speed that kills people, but instead the hazardous conditions around the driver. As Knutson continues to prove his reasoning’s that the U.S. highways should change their speed limits, he also points out that Americans are some of the…

LeBron James or Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player of all time? That is the question that is constantly being thrown around in the media and in turn, to all of us here at home. For me the answer is quite simple, and I will tell you why. Jordan (MJ) is “the best,” nd LeBron is the second best, or is he? MJ won six rings and LeBron James won just one. Does that make MJ better or not? MJ played in the Bulls and LeBron played with Calves, then moved to the Heat. I like MJ because he was so good and never really showed off, he was selfless. I don’t like LeBron because he shows off too much and plays dirty. MJ was a team player and LeBron is ball hog. I know the NBA is way different now, considering that a lot of the NBA players are stronger. Well this evaluation can determent by the championships, skill, popularity, who had the better team. Maybe you can say MJ is better in the 4th quarter than LeBron or other way around. Other differences between MJ and LeBron could be that, Jordan had three seasons of playing college basketball with great players and a great coach. MJ won an NCAA championship and would then later learn how to lose in the same NCAA tournament. He understood how to win with great players and how to play with role players and make them better. Because of this, LeBron will never have the leadership ability of MJ. LeBron could not teach his teammates in Cleveland how to be better and to be a champion, he had never been there. But you can say that does not really matter because skill matters more than leadership. But does that really matter? So what’s more important “How their stats looked in their first year winning a championship” or “How they perform?”…
