Every time I would question a process or event, I built into my mind to find out how things work and also anticipate those questions. Because of the push in my department to innovate and revamp processes, each person has needed to work on something to improve it. As I work on these projects, I find myself thinking, “What will my manager need to know about this?” or “Would others understand this If I were not here?” In both myself and my co-workers I have seen this trend very evidently. My one co-worker Dave, has been following up much more on the root cause of issues that he handles. Another co-worker (who hates documentation) has found himself more able to document things simply and explain things more simply to those who want to know. Clarification encourages knowledge and simplicity, because to be able to clarify something demands these attributes. Sometimes the questioning annoys, but they quickly realize that my understanding is more important, not to mention I am persistent. Even in relationships when discussing non-work related things, asking for clarification shows that you care about the subject matter and want to know more. This is not only an effective way to empower others to gain knowledge, but also to show kindness and care. When I ask about something that one of my co-workers said about their lives, it shows that I am interested, which in turn empowers them to be more open and
