I am 5'0 and I weigh 125. I always assumed I was in pretty good health. Up until a month ago. I was told by my primary doctor that I suffer from a high level of triglyceride. At that time I was not aware of what triglyceride was. It made me pretty scared. She told me I also have a fatty liver and that it was caused by not eating right. She then told me I would need to change my eating habits, to start exercising and to lose a minimum of 10 pounds. She went over my health risks. A elevated triglyceride level can lead to many health issues. For example,
heart attack, heart disease or stroke. That's definitely something I am afraid of. I want to be healthy for my kids and for my future grandkids. I certainly do not want to be ill and having my kids care for me.
My health and fitness goal is to stay positive. Make better choices when it comes to eating right. Staying away from processed foods, carbohydrates and red meat. Eating more vegetables, fish, chicken and drinking plenty of water. Avoid eating after 8:00 pm and exercising at least 3 times a week.
I am hoping I will be able to stay on track. Not just for me but for my family. I will keep reminding myself that this will benefit me in the long run.
