Collaboration What is collaboration? Collaboration is working with each other to do a task and to achieve shared goals. The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with in a group setting of different learning styles and personality traits will result as a success. Collaboration is a process where two or more people or groups work together to realize shared goals. Most collaboration requires leadership, although the form of leadership can be social. When everyone in the team doesn’t work together to meet a specific goal, the team will not succeed. When developing a group to work on a project or an assignment, one must consider the different learning styles ‘. Which make up the group has their own interests, beliefs, values, culture, and concerns the make up their character. The ability to access and identify their strengths and weaknesses along with skills and behaviors will facilitate the groups’ decision for each individual’s contribution. The result will reflect the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively the groups’ vision as success. Everyone in the team must understand that they all are not the same, nor have the same opinions, feelings, learning styles, or personalities. Collaboration relates to the idea s of ‘crowd wisdom’ and ‘mob mentality’ by the wisdom of the crowd of the process of taking into account the opinion of a group Collaboration relies on openness and knowledge sharing but also some level of focus and accountability on the part of the business organization. Governance should be established addressing the creation and closing of team work spaces with assignment of responsibility for capturing the emergent results of the collaborative effort for preservation in the repository.
