College Admissions Essay: The Teacher Who Changed My Life
There are many things and people in my lifetime that have made me become independent and help me with accomplishments that have got me to where I am in life now. Whether it was my mother who had fought cancer twice in her life showing me that there are no excuses or reason to ever stop being happy or giving up, My fifth grade teacher showing me that nothing in life is given but is earned by trying your hardest at anything you do, And lastly my father even while being incarcerated always staying by my side and helping me stay focused and on track throughout grade school. Any problem i ever faced i either had someone or something there to help get me through it. My mother is one of the main reasons why i am who i am today, her having cancer …show more content…
Gordon is another reason for why i always try my hardest at everything i do, there was something special in her teaching tactics that made school a whole lot more simple, The way she teached just made me feel more comfortable in school and think outside the box instead of doing things the easy way. She also rewarded our class which motivated everyone to try harder on their work and get the best possible outcome.
And Finally my father was also a big person who made me who i am today because even while him being incarcerated he always kept in touch with me by calling me every week for 7 years straight. I realized that was something special because today not a lot of kids get to see or talk to their fathers as much as i did. He really is my inspiration because he always pushes me to do better, And no matter what my decisions is he always supports it. Its feels really good to know that i have someone to look up to and guide me in the right path.
All three individuals had a big impact on who i am today. If it wasn't for them i don't think i would be the person i am today, I thank them any chance i get on always taking me down the right paths and believing in me, And i'm pretty sure it's going to make them proud when they all see me in my cap and gown graduation

I claim to owe most of my success to my teachers professors, and my parents, the ones who taught me everything. Before today, I never realized that I had to thank my father for so much of my success. Without his interference, I probably wouldn't have gotten into the best University in the country, learned from the best teachers in their fields, or even gotten out of Punchbowl, Sydney, home to many crimes and violence. Twenty years ago he made sure that I was number one, the best at what I do. Then he gave the area and my innocent mother the best reason in the…

I'm a seventeen year old African American Christian girl, who has no idea what she going to be in life. When I was ten years old my mother, Candyce Brockington, died from cancer. While she was alive, I swore I would become a doctor and cure cancer. After she died, I didn't know who I was, let alone who I wanted to become. Completely lost and confused, my main focus became my studies, not because I enjoyed it, but because it keep me focus on the big picture, college. When my mother was still alive the most important thing she wanted was for her kids to go college and live a wonderful and happy life. When we, my siblings and I, were children we played all the sports and joined all the clubs, not for amusement, even though I did have fun, but…

My father inspired me to step into a world outside of my comfort zone. During high school, I was known as an introverted person who did not get along with others as much. I was afraid of being a part of a large crowd simply because I knew that fitting in would be impossible. However, by the time I became a junior, the daily life that I had lived routinely suddenly began to change. With the recent news about racial violence, such as the deaths of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, I started to feel discomfort about the people who were around me. My uneasiness eventually had gotten to a point where my father tried his best to push me towards being a person who is a keen listener and great conversationalist. From that moment on, my father encouraged me to realize that the world was…

My dad has been my role model ever since I can remember. He has taught so much but the most is to work hard. It is not really always by his words but more by his actions. Seeing him get up at five in the morning and go to work. Then when he was done he would go do a side job for 4-5 more hours and come home and spend time with us for a few hours and go to bed and do the same thing again the next day. See him do this for so long really taught me that if you work hard in life than you can achieve anything you want.…

A very wise uncle used to offer me guidance, which included “stay in school”, “you have plenty of time to make money”, “life will only get more complicated as you get older”. Nevertheless, I was young and foolish and did not heed his advice. I wanted to make my way into the world, and start earning money as a professional, not as a short-order cook in the family restaurant. Looking back through the lens of time it is easy to say that one of my greatest regrets was the decision not to go to graduate school, because I now realize how quickly life does change and that years really do go by in a flash.…

It all started in 207, a bright ,warm , sunny summer day. I was having fun , chasing friends & while I was running , I noticed something. It was money , and it had fallen out the pocket of my friend. I was fascinated by the amount of money I found. It was $360. I imagined all the things I could buy with this money. It was only after everyone stopped running when kayla noticed her money was missing. She stopped and looked everywhere and asked if anyone has seen it. I lied and said no. It was hard for me to do but I was being selfish. I soon regretted that decision. I believe in good karma and bad karma ; what goes around comes around.…

When I was in kindergarten, I knew I loved to help people and express myself through a creative mindset. When my teacher told us we were having gameday I would go around and ask people if they wanted to join me in a game of hot potato or another fun activity, I got filled with excitement. I would go around and ask if anyone wanted a partner to help with reading or on our homework papers. I love to help people more so than sports or business which mainly focuses on making money for your own business or becoming a star athlete. It isn’t like me to be greedy or selfish. I love getting to work with other peoples. I tried to make everyone feel accepted into my friend group and overall it was a success. I had a few people who didn’t like me, but that is okay because we ended up being pretty good friends and we talk every once in awhile. I feel at peace when it comes to being creative and helpful. It makes me feel accomplished and achieved inside and out.…
