One person that has had an impact today in my life is my dad. He has taught me right from wrong. He has taught me to be honest and respectful to anyone. He has told me about why we celebrate what we celebrate. That's why he has had an impact on who I am today.
My religion has also had a great impact on my life. I am Catholic so going to church every Sunday is a must. I also
have to be a better person because I'm catholic. I have more responsibilities as well. Sometimes church gets in the way of things I want to do on Sunday mornings that I have to let go of.
A place that has turned me into who I am today is Nevada. I could?ve lived somewhere else and I believe that it would have changed who I am. Las Vegas has the traditional American ways of celebrating holidays so I picked up that culture. I am Hispanic and I celebrate holidays the American way. This shapes who I am today.
My family's culture has also made me who I am today. I celebrate American Holidays but I also celebrate Mexican holidays. For example, on December 12th every year, we go to church until midnight to celebrate the birthday of the Virgin Mary. My family and I also celebrate the day of the dead. We buy sweet. Read that is eaten on that day. We also make tamales on Christmas. This isn't the American way of celebrating Christmas but that's how my family and I celebrate it.
In conclusion, my culture has impacted who I am drastically today. It's interesting to me when I celebrate holidays differently than others.
