to turn up for me academic wise, but by a social standpoint, I wasn't so great. At the time I didn't have hardly any friends. I wanted friends, but I was to shy to talk to anyone. My teacher helped me come out of my bubble that I put up around myself. He told me that I reminded him of himself when he was my age. He wasn't very sociable and have any friends. He had gave me tips on how to make friends from what he had learned. He had become a better person from opening his world to others. I decided to do the same, and to this day I have no regrets in doing that. I had learned that the best way to make friends is to simply just start talking to others. I was elated watching the number of friends grow. At first, I was uncomfortable and nervous, but most of everybody I talked to came back with a positive response. Within a few weeks, the entire class wanted to spend their time with me. With the more people I surrounded myself with, the more experience I've had in dealing with certain situations. I was extremely grateful to my teacher for giving me the courage for me to expand my horizon. Because of what he had taught me, is part of who I am today. Since then, I grew from what I've learned over the years. To this day I still keep in touch and we give updates on our lives. It's amazing from looking what my life is now and how it was back then. I am glad I was able to become the person I am thanks to him.
