What matters to me and why? Growing up I always thought tv, boys, and basketball was important me. However, as I got older those things faded out becoming less important to me. For this reason, I have started to mature and recognized what really matters to me more than anything. God, my family, and my goals keep me going throughout all my struggles, making me strong to accomplish all the things I want in life. First and foremost, is God because without him I wouldn't be here and I wouldn't strive through difficult dilemmas. God instill strength in me, believing that I can do all things through Christ. However, I find myself questioning his doings and the pain and suffering he put in my life. People say things happen for a reason, but I just don't comprehend why he does at a time when you're the most cheerful. Eventually, I discovered that he is trying to prepare for enormous things in the future and that he wouldn't give me anything that I couldn't handle. …show more content…

However, they don't always agree with what I desire to do, causing us not to communicate with each other. My family has their moments just as every other family will, but we always come back stronger than ever. Above all, family is home and without a home, there wouldn't be anywhere to move to. As a result, God and my family is the key to my life. God blessed me with a wonderful family, I have a family to admire and respect. Furthermore, my family introduced me to God at a young age, helping me to walk by faith and not by sight. In fact, when I frighten, depressed, or in pain, they advise me to pray so I can get through it. Of course, having God and my family in my life enabled me to pursue all my goals, without letting people intimidate me because I know they're always with

It is so easy in our society to sate our hunger; a trip to the grocery store, a quick stop at the convenience store or local fast food outlet. How often do we as Americans consider where our food comes from? Yes, we see the commercials of the beautiful rolling farm hills, the “happy cows”, and the portrait of the commercialized nostalgic Norman Rockwell imagery giving each consumer the warm fuzzy feeling inside that our food comes from farms and not huge industrial complexes. In The Omnivore’s Dilemma section one “The Plant: Corns Conquest” Pollan provides a base for the purpose of his noted dilemma by providing history, data and background information in three chapters titled “The Plant”, “The Farmer”, and finally “The Elevator”; providing a detailed argument that today’s food production is very un-natural in what was once a very natural process.…

My family defines who I am as a person because they are my backbone and the reason why I strive to do my best. My mother’s family has sheltered me ever since I was born they were there for me when I had nobody. Generally I was unwanted by my other side of family, but my mother’s family never neglected me, they have made my life very easy and guided. In my understanding the reason why I said they are my backbone is because as a child( Baby) I had nothing and I was seriously ill but they never abounded me. My grandparents also went far distance into the village to find a cure to my illness and my aunties & uncle used their dorm room bed sheet as a cloth for me. This is why I appreciate everything in my life because I was a nobody as a baby.…

When I was much, much younger, my family was pretty much everything my life was about. I was never a terribly social child while I was growing up and going through preschool and elementary school, I mean I had the friends who I met at school that I was friends with and enjoyed at school, but when I went home everything was about my family. I always had my sister, who was my best relatively-close-to-my-age friend for a good while because I had yet to really get to know anyone as well as I knew her, and then there were my parents. I was always super duper close to my parents when I was younger, mainly my mom because I was the youngest and she coddled me so much and it was great and we loved each other very much. I always looked up to my dad…

God is the most important factor in shaping my life. Being raised in a family that believes in Christ, but were not active Christians has helped me learn more about God on my own. I have had to rely on myself to learn God’s word. I have trusted myself to raise my children knowing who God is and teach them to worship and spread the word of God. God has influenced my life by showing me that even when I think I am alone He is always there with me. I learned from experience that God would not trust us with more than we could handle. I had to make a decision that would affect my daughter and I tremendously. God showed me that I could do anything as long as I trusted him.…

Another reason why family is important to my life is because of the knowledge I am exposed to. Nothing is more exhilarating to me than listening to wisdom or just encouraging words that seem to mean nothing to me at first glance then being able to apply them later in life. Lastly, my most important reason is because music has made my relationship with God closer than ever, because of everything I have gained through family, I am confident I’m going in the right direction with my life. I have finally found my passion for helping…

Family is the key part in my life and I feel as though they made the most impact and have pushed me forward the most. From when I was little my parents were always trying to teach me the difference between right and wrong, which consequently led me to a well-trained conscience. I was able to make decisions regarding what was right and wrong, even when I was just an itty bitty little child. It led me to choose who I should hang out with, and what activities I should and should not engage in. A disciplined conscience ultimately led up to me getting pushed in the direction of being my true self. Along with choices I made and the conscience in the back of my mind,…

Growing up I always heard from my parents and my teachers “do the best you can”. At the time I thought that I was doing the best I could do. I would hear that phrase day after day no matter what I did. I never minded hearing it, it was nice to heat actually. I had always earned A’s throughout elementary and middle school and all of my teachers in the private school I attended seemed to be pleased with the work that I produced. I always worked hard, and in return my teachers rewarded me with praise. I thought that I was an excellent student.…
