My life has not been anything out of the ordinary. I grew up in the small town of Cinnaminson, New Jersey with my family. I have been friends with the same people for many years. I would say I am a privileged child; I have all the necessities of life and some. My life consists of playing a sport every season, going to school, and spending time with my friends and family. Once in a while I come across a speed bump but it is usually easy to overcome. I am never denied anything need; I have everything I could want and more. My parents both work extremely hard to provide for my brother and me. So far my life has been typical, but I cannot complain, I love my life.
August 11, 2012 was the day I realized life is not always going to be this easy. That was the day my brother left for college. I am very close to my brother, and this was a big change in my life. I had so many mixed emotions, I was glad he was leaving because he did get on my nerves at time. But then it hit me, I was not going to see him every day. Then I took a different approach to the situation and realized that is going to be me in a year. It stressed me out; I had so much to figure out. Where did I want to go? What did I want to do? I still don’t know the answers to these questions. All I know is I want to be a part of something bigger than myself. A diverse environment will encourage me to step out of my comfort zone. This will benefit me in becoming a better-rounded person. I have always looked forward to going to college, and being on my own, and learning about life outside my home town.
