As I grew older, I came across many situations where I was pushed to achieve my dream, which is to become a doctor. One day in September, my mom and I were sitting in the living room watching TV, in America, when we get a call from India informing us that my grandmother had had a heart attack and that she was being rushed to the hospital. At that very moment, all I could think about was how everything would be fixed; the doctors would take care of my grandmother and she would be out of the hospital in no time. However, after an hour, we get a call saying that my grandmother had passed away a few minutes prior. The terror and sadness that I saw on my mom’s face was something no daughter would ever want to see on her mother’s face. From that day on, I decided that I was going to be a heart doctor and would prevent people from losing their loved ones as we had.
With this goal set in my mind, I have been able to take little steps to help me achieve my goal. In the past three years, I have received many opportunities that I believe will help me to pursue my dream even more. Throughout high school I have taken health science classes and by the end of my senior year I will have 4 Health Science credits which would include: Intro to Health Science, Health Science I, Medical Terminology, and Health Science II.
