When I transferred to Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), I was fortunate to be selected to the Honors Transfer Fellows program. As a requirement of this program, I was required to complete an undergraduate thesis and take additional classes along with the regular curriculum for my major. While this project was a valuable experience, it was also challenging to balance the workload of conducting thesis research, attending classes, working part time, and working as a clinician at the MTSU Speech Clinic. Over the past year, I have developed skills, such as time management and prioritization, that have helped me succeed as a student at MTSU. Additionally, completing a thesis while attending classes and working has helped me become an independent student. To explain, over the course of the entire project, I had only two deadlines, one for the proposal submission and one for thesis submission.
