Chapter 15, Introduction to Coming of Age in Samoa Margret Mead has studied the effect of early youth influences on adult character and behavior. At the beginning of the chapter, she criticizes a way of the social philosopher and pedagogue who investigated adolescent behavior in a society. She complains, taking the short answer about the behavior of American teenager, but I believe that getting help from a pedagogue was popular at that time. Also, these people help adolescents on their behavior and lead the way for their future. I think it is a very good idea for children and their parents because sometimes parents do not take the right decision for their children. Furthermore, nowadays people talk to a pedagogue or psychologist about their children's behavior and future. She thinks that the biological and cultural factors determine the modifying behavior of the youth. She says there might be more possible situations about this alteration, like early or late sex knowledge, early or late sex experience, discouragement of precocious development (Mead 213). Mead noted that it was extremely casual, because the Samoans find it as a very basic, natural part of life. It is one of the biggest differences Mead noticed was the Samoan outlook on sex. In contrast, it is very unnatural and ugly in western society. There were a lot of critique about Mead's this observation, some anthropologists agree with her, some of them disagree. I believe that culture is very important on people's personality, but also education is important as much as culture. In this point, I can say that the Samoan people behave like that because of lack of education because people should talk to their children about sex, but not they are even
