Animal Farm Commandments In the story Animal Farm there are seven commandments from the Old Major. Our group chose “all animals are equal”. I think this is related to a vice of a man because humans sometimes treat each other poorly due to their appearance or any other features that aren’t the same as their own/different. In other words I think that people are discriminated based on their physical appearance which makes people think that the other person is not equal to them due to that. In our group discussion the person in the hot chair said that this amendment is important because we should treat others the way we would like to be treated. Also an example was that when

In 1776 when George Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, at that he intentions were, but had no idea that his first 10 Amendments would be ratified in 1791 as a part of the U.S. Constitution (Yanak, Comelison, (2004). Anyone who that has researched or studied the history on the U.S. Constitution will defiantly agree that the purpose of the first 10 Amendments truly made a difference for citizen’s individual rights. In Law, the laws are designed strictly for the ability to pursue, and enforce the law upon anything or anyone who breaks it. The first 10 Amendments defiantly speaks for every citizen individual rights. Without George Mason’s passion for the people’s individual rights, there may not have been individual rights today.…

It has been two weeks after the transition from Animal Farm to Manor Farm and it was the middle of the night, the farm was dead silent. The only sound heard through the farm was a single howl from one of Napoleon’s dogs. For some this was normal, for some this was a signal. Animals snuck out of the farm into the a hole in the fence, one by one...…

In today’s society, the first amendment is taken advantage of in many ways. Many people express that they can say whatever they please because they have the Freedom of Speech. They might burn the USA flag, make a racist remark, or some other kind of action, but what they do not realize is that this may hurt people. The First Amendment should be limited so that individuals can speak their mind so long as it does not hurt other people, or violates their rights.…

Animal Farm is the account of a fictional farm under the tyrannical ownership of Farmer Jones. The animals reach breaking point, and start a revolution against the tyranny of man. The revolution starts off to better the situation and the animals are happy with what they have. But over time, the pigs become most powerful animals on the farm. They turn the farm from a free democratic state into a communist state. The pigs then state that “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”. As the book is actually a satirical commentary, it has a direct analogy to society. In Animal Farm’s case, it is the…

This amendment is important to me because I have many friends, that would not live here or could be a slave. For all I know I could believe in something the majority does not and I could be a slave, or my family could be slaves. In my own personal opinion I do not think slavery is fair, it is not right. I also think my faith doesn’t believe in slavery. Slavery is unjust and I believe everyone is…

Hi I am Lester Walker and I will be explaining to you which Amendment from the Bill of Rights I think is most important in today’s society. Personally I think Amendment 5 is the most important one because it’s still racism going on throughout the United States and in some places they would seriously punish an African American male or female for small crimes just because of the color of their skin. I think it’s unfair because I thought everyone were created equally to the same rights and no person was better than one another. So accusing someone of a capital crime is unlawful and the 5th Amendment put a stop to it.…

I will be discussing the 1st amendment , the first of 10 amendments . The first amendment is pretty much the freedom of speech and press. This amendment allows you to assemble and protest against the government without being prosecuted for it . This amendment was adopted on December 15, 1791 and it was written to guarantee is the right to express ourselves. Everyone has the right to seek, receive, and impart ideas without interference from other individuals or authorities. None of these things would be possible to do freely without the 1st amendment. Some significant court cases related to this amendment are Marsh v. Alabama and Cox v. New Hampshire. The Jehovah's witness Marsh stood near a post office one day and began handing out religious books to people passing by. Even though she was warned that she needed to leave and not hand out the books she proceeded to do so…

There are many individuals and groups alike that choose to express their disdain for certain actions, laws, and behaviors through the use of Freedom of Speech. The First Amendment has been cited by many protesters when demonstrating that it is their right to Freedom of expression. Freedom of Expression is powerful enough that sometimes words do not have to be spoken for a message to be conveyed. However, not all acts are protected by the First Amendment. For example, burning the flag is protected under the First Amendment but promoting the benefits of marijuana at a school event would be protected (U.S. Courts, n.d). If by chance there is a question of constitutionality regarding the First Amendment, it is usually linked to the overbreadth doctrine. Simply meaning, an individual may feel that their rights and/or others rights to Freedom of Speech may be prohibited by laws when applied under the context in which they were written. Broadrick v. Oklahoma, 413 U.S. 601 (1973) is the most quoted case that addresses issues of the overbreadth doctrine as it pertains to the First Amendment.…

What are the commandments Major gives the animals? Can you think of ways each of them could be considered a vice? The commandments Major gives the animals are “ No animal must ever live in a house, or sleep in a bed, or wear clothes, or drink alcohol, or smoke tobacco, or touch money, or engage in trade. All habits of man are evil. And above all, no animal must ever tyrannize over his own kind. No animal must kill another animal. All animals are equal. These could be considered a vice because they are all the things that Mr Jones and to the animals he resembles ultimate evil.…

This amendment was adopted in 1869 after the Civil War and “intended to incorporate the ‘privileges and immunities’ enumerated in the Bill of Rights at the level of the states, and compel state authorities to ensure ‘equal protection of the laws’ for all their citizens.” (Oxford University Press 1992, 2005) This amendment was put into place mainly due to the abolishment of slavery after the civil war to ensure African Americans equal protection, but it states that all citizens of the United States are ensured equal protection from and under the law. (Oxford University Press…

Napoleon uses these commandments as a form of propaganda thinking that repetition of saying and hearing these principles will make the animal accept them. As time proceeds Napoleon realises the advantages of luxuries such as beds, alcohol, and clothes. The similarities between man and beast have begun to show as Napoleon breaks each commandment. From this point on we see Animal Farm as a completely corrupt dictatorship in which pigs are given more rights than every other animal on the farm. Almost every single rule of Old Major’s original commandments has been tweaked or changed to meet the extravagant wants of…
