First off, the classic displays the message that it is acceptable for teenagers to become rebellious in the act of love. It is demonstrated throughout the course of their adventure that in order to be with someone you love or someone you believe you have fallen in love with, you should go to extreme measures just to be together. For example, the extreme measure that the teenagers went through to be together was by deceiving and manipulated their town so they can surreptitiously run away together. Additionally, it is presented that death is a better solution compared to being apart. Although teenager suicide is a austere matter, it is not dealt with as a calumniatory issue throughout the play.
