Cheetos (formerly called Chee-tos until 1998) is a brand of cheese-flavored, puffed cornmeal snack made by Frito-Lay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo. Fritos creator Charles Elmer Doolin invented Cheetos in 1948, and began national distribution in the U.S. The initial success of Cheetos was a contributing factor to the merger between The Frito Company and H.W. Lay & Company in 1961 to form Frito-Lay. In 1965 Frito-Lay became a subsidiary of The Pepsi-Cola Company, forming PepsiCo, the current owner of the Cheetos brand.…
The implementation of this strategy, specifically by pioneering small formats in the "food desert" neighborhoods of Chicago, shows the increased sales opportunities for this market. Walmart's market segmentation studies have shown the potential strength of this type of strategy. The announcement of these stores, and a similar recent announcement in Dallas, demonstrate the importance of these markets in Walmart's plans to gain increased market share of the grocery business.…

Teenagers and children today are not only suffering from serious health issues, but also are putting their lives at risk. It is not only the fact that they choose to eat unhealthy, but more so that they have these delicious, mouthwatering, and cheap foods right in their cupboards. “Junk food”, as stated by Gregory Lopez, soared during the 1980’s and 1990’s, doubling among adults in the U.S. and tripling among children (Natural News). Studies show that the number one “Junk food” consumed by children and teenagers were Hot Cheetos. Not only may gastritis come from the consumption of Hot Cheetos, but are also at arm’s length for children, following up with health issues that are quite devastating and are also addicting, to top things off.…
According to the “Face the Fats” sections bad fats are considered saturated fats and trans fats. These fats will clog arteries and cause heart disease and heart attacks. These fats are often found in foods we enjoy to eat or that taste good. Fast food, deserts, and toppings that we place on foods are usually loaded in these types of foods. Better fats are monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. These are considered better fats due to the fact that they help reduce the risk of heart disease. Monounsaturated fats are fats that have double bonded carbon in their molecules and are usually liquid at room temperatures and become more solid when cooled or chilled. Polyunsaturated fats are fats that typically have more than one double bonded carbon in the molecule, and they are also liquid at room temperature but tend to become solid when chilled or cooled.…
"And...they're [GMO's] curing cancer?!". In the "Nine Things You Should Know About Genetically Modified Organisms" article, the author Melissa Leon, tells the reader the pros of Genetically Modified Organisms, GMO's, and how they can benefit humanity in the near future. In the film Food Inc., the director, Robert Kenner, wants to show the viewers the truth about what is really in their food and where it actually comes from. In its debate of peoples health, success of enhancing food, and customer satistfaction, the "Nine Things" article is more effective than Food Inc. because the article tells readers what they want to hear unlike the film that shows viewers images they do not want to see.…
When Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheat’s was compared to the Stater Brother’s version named Stater Bros. Bite Size Frosted Shredded Wheat, I came to the conclusion that Kellogg’s was the best over all option. Advertisement, cost of product, ingredients, nutrition facts, appearance and taste of the cereals were all taken into consideration when comparing and contrasting both of the products.…

Is it good or bad for health? That's a question many people say to themselves, but the truth is that whether bad unhealthy or not, Doritos has become part of people's daily life when it comes to grocery shopping. Probably when Arch West created the Doritos idea, he never tought that it would become what is now; because from 1990's until now (and counting) are the most famous and most tasty chips in the world. Obviously thisnhas to do with Frito Lay's process of marketing, manufacturing, and organizing in order to develop the final product, this process has been made from many years and they will keep it on the future years, but this process is most complicated than most people think, it requires lots and lots of effort and not to mention the steps that they have to deal carefully with it, for sure Frito Lay works pretty good on all of their products, but this one is way much bigger than the rest and uses the majority of the company resources, the process is more carefully taken, it requires four basic steps.…

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council has a list of rules pertaining to the consumption of hot dogs. Some are reasonable, such that “china is a no-no” and recommending paper plates as the way to eat hot dogs, but a sensitive note is hit with hot dog connoisseurs with the topic of putting ketchup on hotdogs. The NHDSC explicitly bans the use of ketchup on hot dogs when the consumer is over the age of 18. Also, a proclamation was issued of "You shouldn't put ketchup on your hot dog" by president Obama at a hot dog stand. But is this rule fair, or should people be allowed to eat the foods they want with whatever condiments they choose.…
I believe both food scoring systems are great tools for the population. However, NuVal food scoring system by David Katz, MD seems to be way more practical for people who are not so informed about nutrition, so they will see changes in their eating habits without lots of restrictions. On the other hand, ANDI food scoring system by Joel Fuhrman, MD is for people who are already living a healthy lifestyle and just want to make some improves by consuming nutrient dense…
