The students think that it is Citric Acid and Baking Soda. They think it is that because when you look at the physical properties of Baking Soda you can see that has clumpy and had some big pieces which would be like the clumps in the Mystery Mixture. Another thing that Baking Soda has is that it is powdery and when you turned it their was some always sticking to the side which would be like the stuff that stuck to the sides of the vial for the Mystery Mixture. Those two pieces of data are important because the show that the two chemicals have the same Physical Property. When they looked at Citric Acids Physical Properties they saw that the texture was rough and kind of rocky that is important because the texture of Mystery Mixture was very similar. When both Baking Soda and Citric Acid are put together the fizzing was faster at first then it started to slow down then it stopped. When they did both of those chemicals again they more looked at the bubbles they saw that the bubbles at first their were many but as it kept going the bubbles kind of stopped and then their were only some sitting around the edge of the well. The temperature of the Mystery Mixture and Baking Soda and Citric Acid are almost exactly the same. It would go up and then it stays the same. They think that this date helped them come to a final
