I have spent most of my childhood living between Dubuque, Iowa and Cassville, Wisconsin. My family always had a place set up in a small trailer park in the small town of Cassville. My parents use to take my sister and I there on the weekends. My dad always said it would be our "getaway" from Dubuque. The town itself was about only two miles wide. It's such a small town, everybody knows each other there and there's always a friendly face wherever you go.
The Mississippi river runs through both Dubuque and Cassville. But from my experience, the river is rarely used in Dubuque. Unlike Cassville, where you see people around every corner fishing, water skiing, tubing, or just people siting along the shoreline …show more content…
Their high school has everything similar to that of senior. They have football, soccer, track, and many more activities just like ours. On the weekends, my sister and I use to go over to the baseball field and play baseball with a couple of friends that lived around the area.
Things that I really enjoy about Dubuque and Cassville are the parks. Both Cassville and Dubuque have parks filled with families and friends. On a sunny warm day, the parks are the place everyone goes to be with families and hang out with friends. With Dubuque I would have to get a ride from my mom or a friend to go to the park. But in Cassville I would always ride my bike across town with my friends to go to the park.
One thing I enjoy more about Cassville are the people. The people are much friendlier in Cassville. With it being a small town like that, everybody knows each other. People in Dubuque are not all that kind to each other. I think since Dubuque is a bigger town, people don’t have the opportunity to get to know one and other. In Cassville, no matter where you go or who you know. Everyone greets you with a smile and a friendly wave. That’s one thing I feel Dubuque will never
