In Malala’s speech, she mainly focuses about the need for education for women and young girls. She talks about how women and young girls should have the “...right to live in peace…be treated with dignity...equality of opportunity...and the right to be educated.” She started her long journey of wanting to educate world leaders about what was going on when she got shot by the Taliban. Being shot only emphasized how much she wanted to educate people. Especially women and young girls. She wanted to give a voice to people who didn’t have one. She claims,”...if women are healthy and educated their families will flourish...And when families flourish, communities and nations do as well.” Women are taken advantage of, so Hillary states that she wants to, “help bring new dignity and respect to women and girls all over the world.” She calls upon “..the developed nations to support the expansion of education opportunities for girls in the developed world.” Then she goes on to state, “Women are most often the ones whose human rights are violated..time to break the silence…” Women often encounter problems like “being denied rights to go to school”, “banned from the ballot box”, and are “forced into
prostitution.”
Despite having different views on the conditions that are necessary to a lasting peace and security in the world. Malala Yousafzai and Hillary Clinton explain how they want to achieve peace and security for women and children. Malala and Hillary emphasize in speeches that women and children should have the access to education and protection and the right to be respected. Changing the way people think by educating them, can change the world in many ways. It can be very beneficial to everyone. Malala addresses, “One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world.” Education should be our first in everybody’s lives.
