The Build of a Standard Electric Guitar vs. The Build of a Standard Electric Bass Guitar Standard electric guitars and standard electric bass guitars appear to be immensely similar to the naked eye. Both instruments are played in numerous genres of music, but these two instruments are extraordinarily diverse. The standard electric guitar is built differently than the standard electric bass guitar for obvious reasons, like sound variety. An electric guitar and an electric bass guitar have contrasting tones. The electric guitar has a higher pitched tone, this instrument is created this way because it usually is the leader of the band. The electric guitar has to have a contrasting sound for solos, and also to establish a distinction between the other instruments. The electric bass guitar has quite a deeper tone, the build is made for the rhythm section of the band. The rhythm section is an exceptionally crucial component in the band. Generally electric guitars have six strings, some are made with more for customization and different ranges. There was not originally six strings on the electric guitar, but over time strings were added. Finally after years the six string electric guitar became the standard guitar. This is because it is the alto or middle range out of the three ranges. Electric bass guitars commonly have four strings, and occasionally five. Originally the double bass was used in bands, but overtime evolved into the electric bass guitar. This evolution formed to make the bass guitar easier to transport. The double bass was first created with only three strings. Then it eventually gained the fourth and fifth. This is because that is a good medium for the note range as well.
