Great Fairy Fountain by Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony and Koji Kondo
It is Zelda’s thirty year anniversary, as one of the best games ever. Within those thirty years, it has release sixteen games and within those sixteen games, it has release some of the best audio or music ever in video games. One of those musical pieces is Zelda’s Great Fairy Fountain Theme, which is one of the oldest Zelda songs and has been in every game of Zelda ever created. The reason that this musical piece has been included in every game is because of the calm and safety environment that the player is on, a safe heaven. The song perfectly captures the fountain’s peaceful sentiment with the soothing lullaby which creates a magical presence. Not only that,
The harp is one of the oldest known instrument with strings attach to it. According to the website Harp History - Alison Vardy Harpist, the word “harpa” comes from Anglo-Saxon, Old German, meaning “to pluck”. There is no telling how long the harp has been around, but it has appear on manuscripts in Greek history and in Egyptian hieroglyphics. Historians believe that the first instrument with string origin goes back to 15,000 B.C. in a rock painting in France (Harp History - Alison Vardy Harpist). There is even a diversity of harps with each one having different length, width, and shape of strings and base. The harp’s base is mostly constructed by the sound-board, knee, neck, action, neck plate, column, and the foot-base. Each harp may come different is size, but all harps are made with those pieces. The strings and the pedals are the only two pieces that can create the sound the person may want. The use of the strings creates the tone that a person may want. The harp creates a sound of high and low pitch, depending on the length of the string. Also any string instrument has duration, which is the length of time of the vibration
I grew up playing to the Zelda’s franchise and any other Nintendo 64 games making it one of the few things that still remind me of my childhood. I have learned that the Great Fairy’s Fountain Theme has been well recognized in people whose passion is playing games and that the song is mostly constructed by the Harp. I also learned a little more about the composer, Koji Kondo. I learned that he is been working with Nintendo since the beginning. Who knew that video games also had well music to be heard
