Rikki-Tikki-Tavi
It requires bravery to do something no one else around you is doing. This is the very thing Rikki-tikki-tavi did. He saved lives, he sacrificed and he did it all with bravery. The story and movie of Rikki-tikki-tavi are very similar, but if you look closely, you can see some differences. So, the book and movie can be compared and contrasted on the setting, characters, and the conflict of both mediums.
The first subject this paragraph will talk about is the book of Rikki-tikki-tavi. In the book, it says that Rikki “fought in the bathrooms of the big bungalow”. That is a similarity between the book and movie because in the movie too, it says the exact same thing. As you can
see, the narrator of the movie gave it has all to keep to the story. However, there is a difference in the setting of the story. In the book, it says “He found a little wisp of grass floating there and clung to it till he lost his senses.” But, in the movie, it doesn’t show that he was hanging on to anything, but lying there in the middle of the peoples’ walkway. In the movie, it doesn’t show that Rikki dipped his nose in ink, or that burnt it on a cigar, or even that he climbed on the big man’s lap to see how writing was done. But, in the story, it says: “ ...put his nose into the ink on a writing table, and burnt it on the end of the big man's cigar, for he climbed up in the big man's lap to see how writing was done.” This shows a clear difference in the movie and book. Also, when Teddy’s father says something about a snake coming in the room, the mother says, “I don’t want to think of such a thing.”. However, in the book, it doesn’t say that she responded. It said that she thought what she said in the movie.
