Compare And Contrast Tybalt In Romeo And Juliet
In Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare gave us multiple earlier indications that Romeo will end up fighting and killing Tybalt. Tybalt's aggressive personality and his hatred for the montagues are early signs of a disagreement occuring. One of these examples is when, Benvolio comes across two servignmen fighting in the streets of Verona he tries to break up the fight but then Tybalt intervenes and threatens Benvolio to a duel.
¨What, drawn, and talk of peace? I hate the word,
As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.
Have at thee, coward!¨ (1:1:71-74)
This statement shows Tybalt's hostile personality when he compares the word peace to hell in describing how much he hates it and his aggression to all montagues. This is a early hint on a fight occuring,

For example in the opening scene of R&J we can tell that the characters are disturbed. For example Tybalt says: “art thou drawn amongst these heartless hinds?” Here, Tybalt is pressuring Benvolio into fighting; throughout the play, Benvolio’s role is a peacekeeper.     Benvolio, who wanted everyone to be friends, warned the guys not to fight in public. Insults were exchanged, but Romeo remembered that Tybalt is his new wife's cousin, so he turned the other cheek. Mercutio found this totally shocking, actually dishonorable, so he offered to fight Tybalt instead. They fought and then Romeo tried to intervene, but Tybalt suddenly stabbed Mercutio. Romeo and Benvolio assumed that Mercutio has not been badly hurt because he started joking about his damage but it was no joke. He was dying. A minute later, he died.
