Snowy Mountains or the Beach?
People usually have a hard time on where they want to go for a vacation. There is many places to go but I think the beach and the mountains are probably the top two choices for vacations. Both places are different from each other but both offer fun activities, no matter which one you choose. The reason I’m writing this essay is to show you the differences between the mountains and the beach, such as weather, activities you can do, and my opinion of which location to go to for each.
First is the snowy mountains. The weather is usually important for a person choosing where they want to go for vacation. If they do not like the cold weather then the mountains probably won’t be the best place for a vacation, but if one does like snowy, cold weather then the mountains might be a good choice. Snowboarding, hiking, and skiing are just a few of the activities you can do while at the mountains. Snowboarding and skiing are probably the best activities to do while at the mountains. For kids, sledding is very big at the mountains, For example there is a ski resort in Germany I have went to had a part of the mountain that held a sledding section for kids to enjoy. Resorts even had lessons for skiing or snowboarding so you could learn how to do these things. There are a lot of locations to go for snowy mountains. In my opinion if you really want a good experience, I would choose places like Colorado or a little more north like Canada. But you could also leave to another country to see the mountains. There actually might be a whole lot more to do while in another country, especially if you have never been there. Some out of country locations could be France or Austria.
Now I am going to tell you about the beach. Warm weather is the best factor for the beach. If you like hot, humid weather then the beach is the best place to go for a vacation. The beach really helps with cooling you down on a hot day. There are plenty of activities to do while at

The Holocaust in a whole is about people trying to survive. Both “Broken Glass, Broken Lives” and “A Survivor Remembers” tell a story about a survival, only each story has a different survival. In the story “Broken Glass, Broken Lives” by Arnold Geier the general topic is to escape while he still can. The general topic in “A Survivor Remembers” is going day by gruesome day till you can’t anymore. These topics are different but yet the same; they both deal with some sort of survival. Mister Geier in “Broken Glass, Broken Lives” survives not being taken by the Nazis and avoids the terrifying events that could have happened to him but have happened to millions of others. Berek Laturas in “A Survivor Remembers” is a different kind of survivor. He went through all of the horrible events of the Holocaust but somehow by the end of the war he survived it all, which six million others didn’t. The occasion of both stories is almost the same. They both took place in Germany and during the Hitler era. However in “Broken Glass, Broken Lives” it was only at the rise of Hitler, “A Survivor Remembers” was throughout all the events of the Holocaust.…

The Declaration of Independence was written in 1776 and was the document that sought America’s freedom from the king of England. In 1848, The Declaration of Rights and Sentiments was written. Like the fight for freedom from the king, The Declaration of Rights and Sentiments was the document that fought for women’s freedom from men. The document used the same style, format, and structure as The Declaration of Independence, but different words. Both have similarities and differences that intertwine the purpose of the documents.…

Out of all the characters in the book, I think my personality is the most similar to Beth. One of the similarities we have is that we both like to show our parents that were growing up and that were individual. At the beginning of the book when Beth was driving her family to the airport, she would try to act as if not going on the vacation didn't make her sad, she wanted to prove to her mom that she can handle being by herself for a long period of time. For example, when her mom said that she was sad that beth had to stay in the cold weather while the rest of the family was in the warm and beautiful Phuket, Beth answered with “I like the winter mom.” The reason she said this is because…

There are 365 days in each given year, although some years might be different from the rest, there are days that are extremely special to me, those days are Holidays. The word holiday derived from the notion of "Holy Day", and gradually evolved to its current form. The word holiday comes from the Old English word hāligdæg. The word originally referred only to special religious days. To me Holidays are the perfect time of year regarding Tradition, Reunion and last but not least the amazing food!…

It is hard to decide which one is the better vacation sports, New York or Hawaii. Both cities, which are famous places as vacation spots, located in United States. Their entertainments are amazing, including shopping, theatre, dining, music, art and night life with a lot of energy. However, the way to spend time seems different. New York is one of the economic big city, busy, crowded in the world, while Hawaii enjoys slow life with natural beauty such as beautiful blue sky and ocean is tropical paradise because of all summer seasons. You can enjoy city life in New York with polish wardrobe , while you can relax to lie down the beach in Hawaii with bikini. Two of my favorite bands got their start in the early 1990’s, and both have kept their extremely talented singers since then. While you could lump both bands into the rock/metal genre, they do have their differences. Till Lindemann of Rammstein and James Maynard Keenan of Tool have some similar qualities, however there are quite a few things that set them apart. Language, genre, and lyrical content are all things that should be taken into account when looking at these singers.…

Of all the types of music that I enjoy, two of my favorites are gospel and Rhythm and Blues (R&B); however, gospel is my favorite. It is my favorite because it is uplifting and encouraging. Favorite Place on Earth

My favorite place on Earth is the deserts of Arizona. When you go to Arizona, most people expect a hot desert and sand. Arizona is home to the Grand Canyon and many interesting deserts with unique plants, animals, and scenery. These are the reasons why Arizona is my favorite place on Earth. The desert is full of scorpions, snakes and cacti , which since I was a little kid and lived out there, have always fascinated me. When you visit the Grand Canyon, no matter how tall you are, you feel insignificant compared to the monstrous canyon. There is a tourist location where they made a catwalk out of glass which allows you to walk out fifteen feet above the canyon and look around. This gives you an amazing view of the size of the canyon. When walking down the path into the mile deep canyon, you can feel the heat reflecting off every rock and boulder you pass. When you reach the bottom, you will find the icy Colorado River. The desert may be a barren, empty landscape but when you actually take a closer look, you can see the wildlife, mountains, and cacti. Another desirable feature about the deserts of the Arizona is the weather. It is nice and warm all year. On the contrary, when you go up higher in the mountains, there is a lot of snow. This makes it a great place to go skiing as well. Something else you can do up in the mountains is downhill biking, which requires special downhill bikes to participate in. Arizona has many unique things about it and that is why it is my favorite place on…

    Compare or Contrast

Comparisons are discussions in which a student finds similarities between two or more ideas or things; contrasts, ON THE OTHER HAND (a popular but overused transition between concepts) are discussions in which a student indicates differences between two or more ideas or things. As you might sense from the previous sentence, comparison/contrast essays can be very dull without the use of some imagination, particularly in the use of transitions. There are several ways of writing a comparison/contrast essay, all of which depend on the choices of topic and the direction of the thesis: Mainly contrasting? For example, if you want to talk about why dogs and cats are different, comparison probably shouldn’t be a major component of the paper; while comparisons ought to be acknowledged in a contrast-heavy paper, they needn’t be developed beyond a paragraph or two, and probably toward the beginning of the paper, before the “meat” of the thesis. Mainly comparing? A paper centered largely on similarities would, of course, take a different approach. Say the topic is dogs and cats, but the thesis attempts to discuss why dogs and cats are similar (because of their status as the most popular domestic animals, perhaps, or because of the comfort both can afford to human beings). In a paper emphasizing comparison, acknowledge the contrasts, then spend the majority of the time discussing the similarities.…
