The result of mineral content of wheat flour and banana peels is tabulated in table (3) that shows the concentration of phosphorus in wheat flour was the highest (784mg/kg) followed by potassium, calcium, sodium, iron, manganese and zinc (427, 238, 151, 38.03, 5.72 and 3.19 mg/kg) respectively. In banana peels, the concentration of potassium was the highest (16303 mg/kg). The concentration of calcium, sodium, iron, manganese, zinc and phosphorus were (3321, 440, 1217, 54.73, 1.97 and 641 mg/kg) respectively. The rest of the calcium in the body has other important uses, such as some exocytosis, especially neurotransmitter release, and muscle contraction. In cardiac muscle, sodium influx commences an action potential, but during potassium efflux, the cardiac myocyte experiences calcium influx, prolonging the action potential and creating a plateau phase of dynamic equilibrium. Long-term calcium deficiency can lead to rickets and poor blood clotting and in case of a menopausal woman, it can lead to osteoporosis, in which the bone deteriorates and there is an increased risk of fractures. While a lifelong deficit can affect bone and tooth formation, over-retention can cause hypercalcemia (elevated levels of calcium in the blood), impaired kidney function and decreased absorption of other minerals. Several sources suggest a correlation between high calcium intake and prostate cancer (Catharine et al.,
