Compare & Contrast

In picture A and B we can see people having lunch together . In picture A , there is a group of friends and , in picture B there's a family having lunch .

On the one hand , on the picture that shows the friends we can notice that this people are fighting or trying to reach faster than anyone a slide of pizza as it was a game . And everybody is laughing . On the other hand ,on the picture that shows the family we can appreciate two adults plus two kids having lunch sat at a table . And they are listening to each other .

Another thing to compare are the modals we can more or less deduce from this pictures .

In picture A it looks like the friends have no modals . They are pushing each other to get faster to the pizza's box . And they are not even eating at a normal table .

In contrast to this , in picture B the family are very polite . They are listening to each other and all the members of the family are watching and listening to the narrator .
In both pictures there's pressure .

On picture A , I get the impression that the friends are having a better time than with their family because they are smiling , and there seems that there's no one that could tell them off .

However on picture B looks like the parents and the kids are trying to act normal and to be nice so that later their parents don't ground them . I get the impression that the kids feel much better having lunch with friends than with family because of the pressure they are exposed to .
And last but not least ,I'll compare the food the different people are eating .
Whereas in the Family Picture we can see them eating vegetables and healthy food, etc. on the Friends picture they are eating junk food . Because its the easiest , the cheapest and the best idea todo when you have young guests .

Finally , If you ask me I'd rather have lunch with my family because I feel dinner/lunch time as the only moment where I can really talk to them openly .

The article “Bucking, the trend” written by Gayatri Parameswaran illuminates how rodeos are a big part of America’s history and culture, rodeos make people and families who they are and make traditions, as well as harm the animals used in the events. To start this off, how rodeos would be a big part of America’s history and culture by being with us since after the Civil War. The rodeo truly gained some attention in the beginning of the 1920s, to save the “Wild West” part of America. The paraphrase reveals that most rodeos truly gained popularity in certain times, and not really before then. Moreover, as well as rodeos being a big part of America’s history and culture, rodeos also make people who they are, and stay in families blood as traditions.…

All in all the differences in these two families show how family roles have changed over a period of time. It also shows how technology has had a great impact on the world today, and is rapidly taking away from face to face conversations. The language of the film that shapes our understanding of the Australian voices and the value conveyed e.g. the gift of giving and Darryl’s placement of present in the trophy room is a symbol for the value placed on family. The family is gathered for father’s day. A medium shot frames the family sitting on the sofa or the floor, very close to one another. The scene is filmed from the front, appearing very like a photograph. Their body language is relaxed, their facial expressions are smiling, with a look of devotion.…

If someone sees it with a naked eye he/she might not see that how many things are being defined at the same time, which we have also read in “Meal as Metaphor”. For Example: Farb states “Most notably in simpler societies, but in some complex ones as well, eating is closely linked to deep spiritual experiences, as well especially important ties.”(Farb 95). Eating is not just filling up your stomach, but it also defines your relationship, your positions, and your religious and spiritual beliefs by what you eat and, how you eat. If we notice this scene of the film, when they sit together for weekly dinners. Every time before starting the dinner, the eldest daughter Letty prays to God and says thanks for all the blessings, which he gave them and, also seeks forgiveness from him. It clearly defines their religious belief, that they should be thankful to God before eating anything because, they believe God has given all these things to them. We read this in “Meal as Metaphor” that different societies have different religious values about eating. The other thing to noticeable in this scene is, the father “Martin Naranjo” always sits on the first seat of the table which defines his rank and, prestige within the family because, it is assumed in so many societies of the world that, the head of the family should sit on the first seat of the dining table. Thirdly, when they sit together on the dining table so, it…

the little girl is my little sister, I did not take a picture of a complete stranger –I am not that weird.) The larger picture of the two little girls is my sister and me. She is my closest and best friend. We have stuck together forever, and we will always. The three other words, "laugh!" "Imagination" and "home" are there to describe me some more, obviously. I love to laugh, and no one could ever make me stop. I enjoy the fact that I am easily entertained by the most twisted of humor, or by stupid puns. I think that my world would be duller if I were not. I also pride myself on my imagination. When I was little I, like most kids, had imaginary friends, but to an extent that always made my mom a little uneasy, like the time when I tried to open the back door in the dead of night so that my friends and I could have a tea party by the light of the refrigerator. "Home" is because I love being home though admittedly home is stretched thin by the fact that I know how to make my home anywhere I am. My home consists of many towns and cities throughout the continental Midwest, reaching into the southwestern regions of America. Finally, on the pink side, there is a short line of music, this is because I play the violin and double bass, and also because, as I have previously stated, I love…
