Religion is a very difficult concept, and something I have struggled with during a of time in my life, since I did not care that deeply about it. Love is a power factor in my relationship with christianity. This path is not easy to stay on, but my love eventually was able to keep me in line. I went on a mission …show more content…
trip that really allowed me to really care about God and what he can do. After this week-long trip’s events, I really cared for my religion. I then allowed myself to love God and myself unconditionally. I did not see it as something that just happens to be there in my life, like before. Now it was something full of passion and love. Not all love is this beautiful, or authentic.
Romeo and Juliet, a classic and well-known romantic story, is not an authentic representation of love in my estimation.
The magical first moment they see each other, it is instantly love. Romeo even decides to change his idea of love, now very interested rather than before seeing Juliet. In the play, both characters commit suicide for each other, seemingly for the sake of romance. To make that fast of a serious connection in a few days, then to be willing to give the precious gift of life up, is absolutely ridiculous and not even close to practical. Love is not Romeo and Juliet’s love, that is what lust is. Romeo and Juliet allow for audiences to have a false, unrealistic view of love. No emotion or real connection is present. This happens throughout time, when entertainment makes love look easy or unrealistic. For something to be considered love there must be an emotional connection to the point of absolute
joy.
Love can be compared to hate, which is not joyus thought. Both emotions do not have limitations, and can not be equal on both sides. Hate does not have restrictions like love. Someone does not have to hate someone to the point of violence to be considered hate. As with love, someone does not have to love someone to the point of giving up their life for it to be considered real love. Love and hate are both powerful emotions that cause people to do something out of their ordinary, which does not have to always result in disaster.
Love has no boundaries in the deep emotion it provokes. A lot of influencing medias create a perception, but personal experience alters these perceptions. Someone can not love without a connection that leads them to care very deeply. Lust has restrictions, where love should never have lust or the connection is all attraction, not a caring connection. When love is right, it is the most magical emotion humans can experience.
