Comparing The Three Wishes And What Of This Goldfish

Although The Brothers Grimm of The Three Wishes and What of This Goldfish, Would You Wish share the similar idea of being granted three wishes, they have very different ways of presenting this idea. I found that reading through the lines and paying attention to the sequence of the stories is how I differentiated between the two. In this essay, the prime differences and similarities will be addressed.
First, the main difference between The Three Wishes and What of This Goldfish, Would You Wish is that the stories are of different genres. The Grimm’s story is a fairy tale and because of this, all three wishes actually occur to the huntsman, and his wife. As to in Yonatan’s story, it is a realistic story, so all of the wishes are being hypothetically asked. Meaning that none of the wishes really appear to the people, but they’re being discussed.
