First, the main difference between The Three Wishes and What of This Goldfish, Would You Wish is that the stories are of different genres. The Grimm’s story is a fairy tale and because of this, all three wishes actually occur to the huntsman, and his wife. For example: the first wish for the sausages actually happens, and the second wish for the sausages to go into the wife’s nose also occurs. As to in Yonatan’s story, it is a realistic story, so all of the wishes are being hypothetically asked. Meaning that none of the wishes really appear to the people, but they’re being discussed. This huge difference can only be understood through grasping the sequence of the story, and once that is understood the story in its entirety comprehended.
