Compare and Contrast:
Growing Marijuana indoor and Outdoor
Cannabis has been cultivated outdoors for a long time and it is one of the oldest agricultural crops in existence. Growing indoors has only been around for less than a century and it came about as a result of prohibition.
There are many reasons to grow indoors over outdoors. There is the freedom to choose the location you want to grow in with very little constraints and the ability to control your environment and the growth of the plant are just a few. Indoor farming allows for complete control over the environment the plant is in. The controlling of the temperatures, light sources, CO2 productions, and humidity creates a stable habitat for the plant’s growth without having to risk outdoor elements.
When growing indoor you will typically find pristine flowers with higher THC levels. On the other hand, no bulb can produce the same amount of light as the sun which will then limit indoor gardens with a smaller yield and less vigorous plants. Outdoor farming, however, requires a climate suitable for cannabis production, such as good sun exposure, hot days, warm …show more content…
Being able to control your environment and expedite breeding has resulted in aesthetically beautiful cannabis strains with different flavor profiles. When you introduce higher CO2 levels, than in a natural environment it increases the bud growth which will then produce higher THC levels that are more difficult to get in an outdoor crop. Also, indoor cannabis does not have to deal with rain, wind, or any of the other natural elements that can damage it. The buds remain in good condition and only start to degrade when they are begging to be handled, for harvest. Most indoor operations will generally allow for the crops to be harvested in the best condition and for the product to be cured in a controlled and secured
