these two speeches show great words and enthusiasm, but only one convinces me more than the other, it is “Speech Before Her Troops.” This speech is more convincing than “Beowulf” and will show you how this is better.
Following this further, “Speech Before Her Troops” is the most motivation speech because the queen is willing to protect her people, country, and reign. Her country, now attacked by the enemy, (Parma or Spain) she cannot stand this and will fight back. “Let tyrants fear, I have always so behaved myself that, under God, I have placed my chiefest strength and safeguard in the loyal hearts and good-will of my subjects; and therefore I am come amongst you, at this time, not for my recreation or sport, but being resolved, in the midst and heat of the battle, to live or die amongst you all;
to lay down for my God, and for my kingdom, and for my people, my honour and my blood, even the dust.” This is a quote from “Speech Before Her Troops” to show that her enemies should fear them that she trusts her people and her subjects in her land. She won’t fail her people and will lead them to success that she promises them. Another quote from this speech is that “I know I have the body but of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart of a king, and of a king of England too, and think foul scorn that Parma or Spain, or any prince of Europe, should dare invade the borders of my realm; to which rather than any dishonor shall grow by me, I myself will take up arms, I myself will be your general, judge, and rewarder of every one of your virtues in the field.” From this quote that even though she is a queen, a weak woman and not a man, but she has a heart of one and will be their general to fight the enemy with honor for her people in the name of God. Even to reward them with crowns and to be their judge and general for her kingdom and people. A last quote from “Speech Before Her Troops” is “In the mean, my lieutenant general shall be in my stead, than whom never prince commanded a more noble and worthy subject; not doubting by your obedience to my general, by your concord in the camp, and your valour in the field, we shall shortly have a famous victory over the enemies of my God, of my kingdom, and of my people.” The quote is that her enemies in the name of God will be defeated and won’t doubt and question her people, but will be victorious in battle against her enemies with God on her side.
