In the world of Engineering and Technology, each day sees a spate of new concepts and applications, and each passing day seems to make them obsolete. This galloping pace of technological evolution has a direct bearing on practical applications, making it mandatory for today 's engineers to keep abreast of the latest developments. I have always had an inherent and overwhelming desire to design and innovate and this propelled me to opt for a career in engineering.

In Computers, the tremendous scope for research, whose application potential could provide tremendous productivity gains, has always fascinated me. As a student in the final year of undergraduate study for a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science & Engineering, I look to graduate studies to refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest.

My strong academic record provides the foundation for the work I hope to do. During my schooling, I enrolled at the Center for training in Computers for a Diploma in Computer Applications to pick up the rudiments of computer programming. I completed the 5-year course with a distinction. I excelled in Mathematics (91%) in the 10th grade Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam. I also obtained 96% in Math and 95% in Computers in the ISC (High School) conducted in 2000. For this, I received the Certificate of Merit and a 4-year scholarship for under-graduation from Hyderabad Archdiocese Social Service Society for excellent performance in Class XII, which I used, to set up a scholarship fund for students in need.

My academic experiences confirmed that my future lay in Engineering. However, I wanted to determine how my aptitude might mesh with a potential career in my chosen field of Computers. So I enrolled in a six-month Diploma Course in Java Pro (Core Java and Advanced Java) at Comp-u-learn, a branch of an American Institute, before my under-graduation, and did well enough to further fuel my interest in Computer Science. During this time I also

Technology is determined by need. Inventors often have a mysterious skill of resolving situations with their modernisms. But the thing that splits engineers from ordinary innovators is the ability to distinguish the importance of maintainable technological solutions for the future. Although many of our needs and difficulties remain the same, the answers keep changing with time. Furthermore to finding out how a machine operates, I’ve always been interested in design aspects and observing the incipient faults occurring within machines. This desire has strengthened my ability to recognize the scope for improvement and also inspired me to look outside the conventional functionalities of any machine.…

Most engineering designs can be classified as inventions-devices or systems that are created by human effort and did not exist before or are improvements over existing devices or systems. Inventions, or designs, do not suddenly appear from nowhere. They are the result of bringing together technologies to meet human needs or to solve problems. Sometimes a design is the result of someone trying to do a task more quickly or efficiently. Design activity occurs over a period of time and requires a step-by-step…

The joy of being a computer engineer lies in the amazing ability of complexity synthesis that lies at my disposal. The inexplicable sense of magic, which I felt when my first "hello world " got displayed on screen, is something I have never experienced in any other phase of my academic pursuit “Hello, World”; the first and perhaps the simplest of the programs any novice programmer executes. Yet, its seeming simplicity lent a magic-like feeling to programming, something that I have found hard to ascribe to any science. Since all the things that made the program work were yet to be explained, I was left with an uneasiness that persisted through the many progressively complex programs that I wrote. It was during my fifth semester at college, when I was trying to make a stepper motor work in the Microprocessors laboratory, that I saw how a program could influence something in the real world. The fact that an “unreal” piece of text that I had keyed in could move something in the real world fascinated me. The sight of the stepper motor turn addressed the discomfort in a subtle but very important way. Soon, I realized that looking at programs from the hardware perspective and understanding how things worked “under the hood” fascinated me and added a new dimension to my programming skills. It is this fascination for the hardware software co-design that led me to pursue a career in embedded systems development..…

From a very young age, I had aspirations of becoming an engineer, because I wanted to build machines that did not require direct human energy inputs to operate. I achieved this for the first time a few weeks later, designing a vehicle that carried it's energy stored in rubber-bands; it wasn't a roaring success, but the fact that it wasn't perfect only increased my desire to learn more about engineering.…
