“Computers are almost everywhere, and they affect most walks of life-business, education, government, the military, hobbies, shopping, research, and so on. What aspects of your life can you think of that still seem relatively unaffected by computers and technology? Is this a good thing or a bad thing, and is it likely to last? What aspects of your life have been made the most conspicuously affected by technology? Has anything been made worse or harder in your life by the advance of computers? What about things that have been made better or easier?”
Please make sure to incorporate in your discussion the use of technology in various careers. How could you use computers and technology to advance your own career?
Computers have become a major role in every aspect of my daily life. I know I turn to my laptop, ipad, and phone for answers all day. As soon as I wake up I check the weather on my phone to decide on what wear and how to dress my son for school. My drive in the car involves streaming music through Pandora using my phone. If I drive to an area I am unfamiliar with I use my phone to navigate my way. I pay personal and work bills through online banking.
With the advancement in social media, yelp reviews have played a factor in how I manage my business. I read reviews customers post online about the salon and use the feedback as training points on things going well or things the salon may need to work on.
I manage a nail salon and I use the computer to do payroll. My parents are old fashion and still use a composition note book and ruler to do their payroll for the other salons in our family business. Their method has worked for them for over 30 years. Recently I have taught them how excel can make the payroll process much faster and easy to keep track of, but they are very hesitant on making changes to the advance technology. My parents have fear of files being lost or even hacked.
Fortunately, we are all able to further our education through the

Computers have become an electronic device used almost daily and used from individuals of every age. Answering he/she question or oneself can only get easier by just accessing a computer. We have moved on, we have made changes, and we have progressed to enhance computers. Computers have found their way into many aspects of our lives. In most cases computers make things easier for us. Computers have helped us so much, yet people seem to think we have come to be too dependent on them. Are computers really hurting our lifestyles? They have allowed us to learn, to communicate, and to organize making life just a little less stressful. Computers are great for the future of our world and will be greatly needed as we have many more things to discover in the near future and beyond. People may complain and argue that computers are just too much but they will see the truth when life needs more organization ,more communication and more education. The entire purpose of this paper is to find out the answer to the question: How does technology affect our daily lives?” Many different sources said many different things, however they somehow all connected at one point or another. “Body and Soul: Beware of Digital Gluttony,” by Kate Wicker, suggests that technology is now apart of us and our lives and there isn't much we can do to change it. “Technology is a real part of our lives, we are living in an “ICulture” whether we like it or not.” (Wicker. Pg.21) She has made it clear that she believes that whether we see technology in a positive or negative way, it’s here to stay. However, Williesha Morris, author of “Technology Addiction: Breaking the Chain,” says something a little different. “If you're an executive over the age of 30-35, you remember a time when such devices didn’t exist. They weren’t needed then, so why are they so crucial now?” (Morris.Pg.17) Morris seems to believe that we don't need them today, or she's at least questioning why society relies on technology as much as it does.…

In today’s society, the average American, under the age of 60 sees at least one of these objects each day. Technology has its advantages in many ways and I know firsthand how powerful and convenient today’s technology is. Without it, I would have a lot of trouble getting through my day. I would not be able to get a hold of someone as easy without my blackberry. I am constantly text messaging on it. So much to the point that I trip over stuff while I am walking due to reading a long text. My blackberry is basically my life. It is great to know that if I ever get stranded in the middle of a desert on my way to California, I have roadside assistance on my phone to save me. I have everything I need in one little handheld device. If I cannot define a word I will just pull out my blackberry and google it instead of pulling out an old fashioned dictionary. When I am bored in my biology lecture I get on the internet and start social networking instead of listening to my professor’s lecture. I and many of my peers do this.…
