Consequences Of Technology In Education
Unfortunately, it is still a mystery and confusion when it comes to the topic about the consequences of the technology on student learning outcomes. Due to some economics changes and issues, the laptop programs for students is planned to shut down by some organizations. However, the response from the students is inconstant as some feel that it is impactful while others feel that it is ineffective. Provocatively, there is no actual way to define or evaluate the rate of the success in this outcome. Organizations such as K-12 and others which have accessed the technology for instruction have some technique issues and success measuring as well. Those machines are normally worked by underpaid humans instead who have handed over their time and chances …show more content…
The conflict remains happening, but that technology brought issues as it decreases the level and the precision of learning area, and also reduces skillset knowledge and creativity. Technology may bring some changes and progression in supporting processes and transferable skills, but why does it still endanger academic level?
In my personal perspective, nervousness by causing mistrust and doubting its existence may be happened due to the shortage knowledge on the usage of technology. For instance, we rather care about the result normally than procedure.
The biggest reason for this issue is that, even if we may have good understanding and skillset on technology, there are many hidden issues that we eagerly try to prevent. In a conclusion from some professors, there are some conflicts between servers and local drives, Internet and intranet, document locations and security, or something like Web portal technology. For technology frequent user, the result has been discovered back then. While for others, it is always not easy to admit for not understanding and there are a few ways and solutions to fix these types of difficulties honestly at majorly organizations which provides system operations for technology support, not user knowledge. The answers can be found on knowledge banks and it is updated regularly, but it is still pointless if the users have no idea how

For an example, a student with a great knowledge and ability in research skills and team building skills yet still fail to choose or decide the precise answer in multiple choice exam. Evidently, every student has to understand the whole point and the procedure of the course or else it will be completely pointless. However, if the teacher teaches the students in a smart and correct way by providing them at least a chance to determine the whole knowledge in a context which adopts highly developed research and team-building skills, it will improve the students’ understandings on the whole course. In these sorts of scenarios, what matters the most is not the procedure of learning but the student’s capability to achieve an individual task or test instead. A huge challenge is proved by K-12 in this case as a lot of systems lately rely and commit fully on test

The essay “Laptops in the Classroom? No Problem” by Elena Choy, states that banning laptops in the classroom in not the answer. I agree with Choy because with laptops in a classroom, students can access the internet and this is a great tool for research and also a means of communication by using tools like chats, e-mails and forums. With the arrival of the internet we were confronted with new possibilities, challenges and uncertainties in the process of learning and teaching. How can students and teachers adapt to a learning process involving a technology that is becoming increasingly sophisticated, and more challenging? For me, teaching, in a broad context, is to select and organize information in order to transform it into knowledge. Laptops can facilitate individual and group research as well as the exchange of ideas between teachers, their colleagues and their students. Using laptops to access the internet provides students with an exchange of experiences, questions, materials, personal exchanges, both of whom are geographically near and far. Laptops can help teachers to better prepare their class by expanding the ways to teach, to modify the evaluation process and communication with students and colleagues.…

For schools and universities, both have experienced many changes with the technology that is available. Instead of students having to go to the library to complete their work, most can now just walk into their classroom filled with new desktops and laptops. With the increase of technology in most schools, it is almost becoming a necessity for classrooms to have up to date technology for students. Students that have been able to work with laptops ever since elementary school get so used to the technology available that most find it just standard in classrooms today. In the classroom it does not stop with the computers, now teachers are having smart boards made and put into classrooms. But do these smart boards really help the students learn better? I highly doubt that a smart board in the classroom is going to help a student want to pay attention to another boring lecture of some moment of time in our history. Frankly, that smart board is all but making the teacher’s job easier. Or is it? What if that teacher or professor is a little older than some of us? Someone who is not used to having the high amounts of technology in today’s classrooms may not know how to work that smart board. All that does is waste time. The same can go for students who grew up in low income areas who are not used to working with computers. While others in the classroom are busy typing a paper, this student is probably sitting in the back wondering how to change his font. The fact is too much technology in the classroom can cause negatives for both the student and teacher in many ways.…

The internet is a great and expansive place, and that is why sometimes students rather explore it then listen to their teachers. All these sites and apps are taking up the attention of students throughout the world. This is shown in a Canadian study which proves that computers are helping lower the users grade and his or hers classmates as well. The experiment showed that students who were using computers during the lecture had lower grades than those who were using pen and paper. The worst part is that students around the computer user were also affected and they too had lower grades. A professor at NYU said that “screens generate distraction in a manner akin to second-hand smoke.” He teaches Media Studies and was an advocate for the use of technology during class. The tipping point for him was when he realized that the distractions spread. He no longer allows the use of technological devices unless the assignment requires it. He also stated that when technology was removed from the…
