Here we are, living in the 21st, century wondering and looking around to answer questions related to lifestyle and consumer behavior. We have reached a point where living only one life with one’s own role leads to the psychological death of human mind. Today, the term survival is being defined as 99lives. 99lives is a consumer trend that is very major in our present and surely will be dominant in the future as well. “99lives means that we 're living at too fast a pace with too little time to do everything ” (popcorn). The little time we have to do everything is forcing us to assume multiple roles. Popcorn also emphasizes that time, today, is our new currency. A general example of the 99lives trend is a woman. A woman is a wife, a mother, a daughter, a manager of a family, and an employee. A woman has to take care of her husband, children, parents, house, while being an employee.
Nevertheless, the rapid increase in the technology development is influencing the lives of millions of people from all around the world. Nowadays, countless activities are being held electronically. The adoption of IT has made people’s lives easier, and as it becomes more advanced, consumers are able to handle their time more efficiently.
99lives trend reflects the busy days and various roles that each consumer is passing through, keeping in mind that there is always, “no time”. Global internet access exceeded 1018 million people in December 2005 (IWS, 2006). The global internet services, such as online payments, offered consumer a great deal of comfort, ease at executing their regular transactions, and has influenced consumer behavior on the international level.
It all started with globalization, the world has become smaller and smaller throughout the past couple of decades. Our world has turned into an electronic world, where time is money and money is scarce. We pay for products that are meant to save us time. Today, consumers engage with multi-tasking in search of an extra
