In Cote d’Ivoire many festivals take place throughout the year as a celebration of culture. These festivals consist of religious events related to Islamic beliefs but they also celebrate historic holidays. Festivals that take place are Carnival in Bouake, Fete du Dipri, Fetes des Masques and Islam-Related Holidays. Also this island celebrates many of the holidays we do including Independence Day and Christmas. Carnival in Bouake is their version of Mardi Gras on a long weekend in March. This is also known as one of their most attended events of the year. Fete du Dipri takes place in April in the town of Gomon. People perform different kinds of rituals in order to exorcise and drive evil spirits out of the village. Fetes des Masques which translates to the festival of masks held in November. This festival is also a tradition. Ivorians also pay homage to the forested spirites embodied villagers who wear colorful costumes and masks. Islam-Related Hoilday is where they fast until its time for the Ramadan feast (Eid-al-Fitr). The two holidays celebrated similary are Independance day and Christmas day. On Independance day they celebrated the countires liberation from France. Lastlty, Christmas day is celebrated by christians by which they attend local services throughout the day. Cote d’Ivoire is filled with many customs! Including wooding carvings, mask making, music, and cooking. The Baoule, the Dan and the Senoufo are all famous types of wooden carvings made here. Mask making is known in the land of Cote d’Ivoire. No one makes a wider viarity than them but its restricted to certain families or individuals. Also, here you can find a group of people known as the griot (village entertainers) who make insruments only made out of local materials. Lastly, theirs diet is very simaliar to countires or people around them. Their reliance is on grains, tubers as part of their culture. Also, “Food plays an
