The key issue identified in the case is whether or not Cott Corporation should penetrate the Japenese market and which strategy it should adopt to succeed in this new market.

Strengths:
-different manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States, and United Kingdom

-quality products
-cost effective
-strong relationship with major actors in the market (Walmart)

Weaknesses:

Opportunities:
-The Japenese market constitutes an opportunity to extend their area of presence. Entering and succeeding in this market by building a strong brand name could represent and entry to the whole Asian market that symbolizes the biggest number of customers worldwide.

Threats:

-world economic slowdown
-different regulations and laws in various countries

5- Market Analysis

A PESTEL analysis should be made to assess the possibility of entering the Japenese market.

-Political: Japan has constitutional monarchy as its current form of government. It is a democratic state with almost the same laws and regulations as other developed countries concerning the business environment.
