What is prejudice? Why does it exist? What can I do to counter prejudice? So first of all there are many types of prejudice statements. The general idea of prejudice is someone or something being based on the cover or what they look like or what you have heard about something. An example of prejudice is if you hear something bad about a book and you don’t even read the book because you don’t want it to be bad. Also if you see a book and the cover is weird and you choose not to read it you might miss out because sometimes the cover is nothing like the book. Another example is hearing or seeing a person and just assuming something about them based on what they look like. So if you see a new kid who may look goth or nerdy, but
actually be one of the nicest kids you will ever meet you will never know because you would not have talked to him/her. Prejudice happens a lot now with all the technology you do not always meet their real personality and they just meet their appearance. There is a lot of stories that are people getting excluded out of the “popular” group ,and I think they do that because they don’t want to be any less popular. So everyday there are people who are left out of activities and you can always fix that by including them in things. I think prejudice happens because people think they know everything and they do not want to be less popular or make a mistake of reading bad book and wasting time. In conclusion, there are many prejudice things things done and they are all things you can change.
