Assessment Criteria
1.1 Summarise Key aspects of legislation, regulatory requirements and codes of practice relating to own role and responsibilities:
• The equality act 2010 - ensuring know one is been mistreated because of their race. • Sex discrimination - Ensure everyone is treated equally • Employment equality (Religion or Belief) - That all religious beliefs are accepted no matter what. • Health & Safety at Work Act - That all health and safety acts are read to employees before they start their new job role.
1.2 Explain own responsibilities for equality and valuing diversity:
• Equality and Diversity means that no matter what, whether the persons skin is white, mixed race or black, whether the person is English or not or what religion he/she is we are all still known as equals.
1.3 Explain own role and responsibilities in identifying and meeting the needs of learners:
1. Identify Needs - Identifying needs of your students is targeting individuals on the course who may struggle or have a disability for e.g. dyslexia. The reason why you do this is so you can take that extra little bit of time out to help that person or to have someone assist them like an agency who can help them on that course. You also need to identify the background you are going to be working in whether it is private firm, community, college or institution. This helps you target what you will need for that course.
2. Plan & Design - This is to help you plan you course out whether its for 3, 5, 10 or 14 days. When you receive a new lot of students it is always best to carry out inductions and icebreakers so that the students get to learn about each other and there backgrounds. You will also give information to the students about what course they are sitting and what qualification it gains at the end of the course..
