Craiglist Argument Analysis
In the panel of Lynn Doyle's ad of Craiglist it was under debate whether what she did was illegal or not. It certainly was questionable. I personally despise the idea of prostitution. It gives people the idea that they can succeed in life by offering up their body rather than hard work. I definately think that prostitution should remain illegal. If it somehow was legalized then job positions wouldn't be given to thoughs who are qualified but rather any who are willing to use there body. I understand that a person does whatever they can to survive but to use one's body to get a point that someone else work hard to get to is

While looking at Craig’s List personal ads, I think men and women differ greatly when looking for relationships and characteristics in a partner. Women differ from men in many ways, the biggest way they differ while looking for a relationship is the kind of relationship it is. Women seem to want a more long term, committed relationship while men are more times than not looking for a “friend” or just someone to hang out with, with no strings attached. Also, no matter what a woman’s age is, women generally look for someone in their age group and do not go much outside that. Men on the other hand are more open to anything and age is only a number to them. I have seen many men post that as long as the woman is over 18, it does not matter to them…

When you hear the word prostitution what kind of image pops up in your mind? Is it a malnourished drug addicted woman? A woman possibly controlled by a pimp? When you hear prostitution, do you think of someone forced against their will? I wanted to know what you all thought before I told you the definition. Prostitution is the act or practice of engaging in promiscuous sexual relations for money; the unworthy or corrupt use of one’s talents for the sake of personal or financial gain; the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for money (Legal Dictionary). I’m not related to any prostitutes, and I am not a prostitute, but I have done much research on the topic and watched a documentary on the subject. I feel that…

Zoos, aquariums and circuses have had a lot of controversy over their uses of animals in captivity. After SeaWorld announced they will not have any killer whales in their facility people reacted with a cheer and some with sadness. The documentary released in 2013 on CNN “Blackfish” has made people's decision to stop going to and not agree with the animals in captivity all the more easier. According to Lisa Lange, senior vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has said “Change is already happening around the world.” For example, she mentioned Mexico, Spain and the U.S. have banned things to do with the exploitation of animals, such as animal circuses, bull fighting and the bullhook for training elephants. For other…

Native Americans should be respected. In his work titled “Making arguments,” Ward Churchill makes an argument about racism and discrimination against Native Americans. The writer in the first part of the essay rants about how sports teams in America mock and discriminate Natives. In his ranting we can find a couple of fallacies. Churchill, in my opinion, does not make his argument good enough to persuade the reader to agree with his views.…

Do you believe that prostitution should be legalized? This paper will examine the pro and con and my point of view on should prostitution be legalized. Condemnation of prostitution is as old as prostitution itself. Sex workers have often been stigmatized and isolated from mainstream society. Prostitution is the practice of engaging in sexual activity in exchange for immediate payment in money or other valuables. Advocates of sex workers have called for the legalization of prostitution in an effort to provide sex workers with regulatory protection. They think legalizing it would encourage a higher demand.…

In the 21st century, the profession of prostitution has been a target of great controversy as far as the ethical and moral issues are concerned. Prostitution is one of the oldest professions of this world and the critical debate with regard to the moral and ethical values of this profession are not a surprise for anyone. “Prostitution can be defined as “The act or practice of engaging in sexual intercourse for money,” and is usually provided as an underground service” (LaBossiere). There is no profession in this world that has lasted longer than prostitution- the selling of sexual services. Despite the age of this field, there is a lot of controversy over whether it should be legal or if it is even morally correct to do. There are places all over the world where prostitution is legal, but in the United States only two of the fifty states have legalized it-Rhode Island and Nevada. But there is a lot of evidence to suggest that Prostitution should be legalized in all fifty states because it is a perfectly legal and beneficial career.…

In this day and age the underground world of prostitution is becoming less underground. Many cities have certain red light districts or areas of prostitution where cops turn a blind eye. This is becoming the normal scene in cities across America. These areas are going to get bigger and bigger if there is no intervention from an outside source leading to an unregulated trade of a service for money. Where there is an unregulated source of money, crime is close behind. They need to be able to be monitored and controlled. Prostitution should be legalized and decriminalized so that taxes can be collected, laws can be reformed, and new policies that will help protect working girls from being abused can be created. Prostitution is the exchange of…

Merriam-Webster defines prostitution as, the act or practice of engaging in promiscuous sexual relations especially for money. Over time, many changes have been brought into that of the global community. More specifically, many changes have been implemented within the sex industry. From these changes, it has become evident that in order to protect others, legalization of prostitution in particular, is necessary. Although some oppose the idea of legalizing prostitution in the United States, it has proven itself useful in making those involved in the sex industry healthier, wealthier, and safer.…
