Obviously not everyone can be like this and you can just like many others complete cross-country for health as to be successful in competition it is almost required that you have the ideal build. Someone could have trained just as hard as you and the two of you could be of similar skill level but in the end the person who performs the best is the one whose body is the most ideal for the sport. This can be disheartening but it is important to remember that cross-country is an individual sport and you only true competition is yourself. How well you do is not determined by those around you. Body makeup can be tested by looking at high level long distance runners and comparing their bodies to your own, are your limbs as long as theirs? Are you as tall as them? Overall body makeup is an important but not defining factor of cross-country as it really depends on what you want to get out of
