Current Events in Business Research
Business research begins as if you were starting an investigation. First, you must decide exactly what you are attempting to look into, such as an outline of a specific business or industry. The next step is to start collecting data that will become helpful information for making business decisions. Then you must analyze the gathered information to see in what direction you will be heading. Then you have the summarizing and utilizing stage that leads to finalizing your investigation to put in place your reasoning and implementation for your overall idea (Cooper & Schindler, 2011).

While working at Technology Academy, I have observed many opportunities to better the program and the process to take in order for improvement. This business research process will be used to present an overview idea for Technology Academy’s new lunch program. The school wants to partnership with Fit Meals to provide healthier meals for the students. We share the same common goals as we look for wholesome, fresh cooked meals made from natural ingredients that encourage healthy eating for our students.

First we had to set objectives and goal for the purpose of the proposal. The next step was to determine how the parents would feel about the transition, by sending out a survey. We were shocked to learn that many wished for a change long ago, so they agreed. Next was certainty that we would be feeding our students more nourishing meals, therefore we looked into the menus for all food ingredients and nutritional facts. We then collected data to do compassion on how much this transition would cost us annually. To our surprise, Fit Meals were actually less expensive. The final step is to prepare a presentation to show upper management for approval.

Throughout this process, we learned that managers should always strive to improve business. The research process helps with problem solving and quick decision-making. This helps the company to be long lasting and more successful.

Business research is something that is done in every company in one form or another. I have had my own fair share of experience with business research and I have to admit that it is not as easy as doing research papers in school. I worked for a convenience store and had to do business research at least once a month in order to try to keep my store current with other stores and our customers.…

The purpose of business research is to allow a business to set itself apart from its competitors by gathering as much information on the industry that it can and utilizing that data to create unique methodologies and business practices. Researching a business will provide information on things such as what products consumers like or do not like to buy, what the start-up costs will be, and whether any new business opportunity is viable to undertake. Researching also reveals the profitability potential of products and services and how they size up competitively with similar products available in the market. The most successful business in each industry are perfect examples of how to successfully market, advertise, and sell your products so they should always be considered. According to chapter 1 of the textbook, it does not matter whether you are a small mom & pop bakery or a large corporation like Nabisco, business research is equally important to your company. In my personal experience I have found that the company policies and procedures set forth by the upper management will directly reflect how the employees will react to their clients and impact the business.…

In phase II, three different safety devices (Becton Dickinson 's resheathable winged steel needle; Bio-Plexus 's bluntable vacuum-tube blood-collection needle; and Concord Portex 's vacuum-tube blood-collection needle with a hinged recapping sheath) were introduced to replace conventional phlebotomy devices for the next 12 months. When the survey was repeated near the end of this 12-month phase, needle stick injuries were significantly reduced with all three products. A total of 41 needle sticks were reported by the 1,421 respondents-a substantial decrease from pre-change findings. Of these injuries, 25 occurred prior to activation of the device 's safety feature after removal from the vein, and six occurred during activation. Thus, the only multi-center study to examine the effect of safety devices on the rate of needle stick injuries found a significant…

Recently there has been revisions to the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and schools were required to overhaul their entire menus to provide the students with healthy and nutritious foods including fruits and vegetables. The new school lunch rules are part of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 which has been implemented this fall. (Post Standard) The Hunger Act allows the USDA the opportunity to make reforms to the school lunch and breakfast programs. With these revisions come strict guidelines from the federal government that each school district must follow in order to receive funding and reimbursement (National School Lunch Program, 2012, August p. 1). In this essay i will be comparing the positive and negative effects of these recent revisions to the NSLP. I will then discuss whether or not these changes are beneficial to the children receiving the meal and whether NSLP is leaving children hungry or helping children make healthy food choices.…

There are six basic stages to the research process. Stage 1 is clarifying the research question. This would be the process in identifying the problem that is prompting the research. Stage 2 is proposing research, which would be the act of identifying the resources necessary to do the research. The third stage is designing the research project, or deciding which method to use to gather the information. Stage 4 involves data collection and preparation, which is gathering the data and making it ready to be evaluated. Stage 5 would be the data analysis and interpretation stage. Stage 5 is defining what the data is saying about the problem. The final stage, stage 6 is reporting the results. This is breaking down the interpretation into a presentation that shows the meaning of the data collected. (Cooper & Schindler, 2014) This is the process used by Paramount Pictures recently when it was in contract negotiations with the DVD rental company, Redbox.…

The program will take place once every other month in each working sector during some workers’ one hour lunch break, while other government workers (e.g. teachers) will stay after work for a maximum of one and a half hours to participate in the education and demonstration session. Each session will consist of a lesson which will change month-to-month, for example: vegetables for January then meat and meat substitutes for March, or protein for May then fats for July. In order to meet all the requirements and demand of the program, a team of experts will host each meeting. This team will consist of either one registered dietitian or nutrition consultant and a group of nutrition student volunteers enrolled at a local college (university or community). As the registered dietitian or nutrition consultant teaches the lesson to the employees, the students will demonstrate how to put the lesson into actual practice by cooking short, easy meals. These meals will represent healthy foods that government employees can afford, will have the time to cook, and contribute significant nutritional…
