------------------------------------------------- First, I really made important connections with this book. For example, the narrator said, “There is a whole world to see, to learn, and like all young they want to see and do it all at once”(40). As a kid and even a teenager you want to do everything at once. One reason is because we have a lot of energy and we want to have a great amount of fun. Also, when we are out with are friends or cousins we are having fun and we want to do stuff that is either inappropriate or maybe even dangerous. Last, for me the most important connection was that sometimes I want to do all at once is really to impress. Second, in the passage the narrator explained, “Going at something slowly lets us build confidence and have more fun”(39). This really caught my attention because this is what I live in my daily life. For example, I am a person that gets frustrated easily when I don’t see fast results. Also, sometimes when I get really engaged into something I end up messing up or become really mad when the whole purpose is to have fun. Last, I came to conclusion that having is one of the main points in life, which means that we don’t need to stress over situations that aren’t worth it. Third, I realized something that I have always been told and able to see myself. The narrator stated, “It’s how they learn and grow”(17). This is one of the basic rules of life that each human being experiences every day. I was able to relate to this because my parents have always explained to me that every day I learn something new. Also, I also notice daily that I become smarter each day learning stuff I never

As I said before that the others wanted to give a message throughout the entire book to explain to people that we are all one of a kind and never try to be like someone else because there is only one of them and one of you. No one can do better than the next person because we all have something different to offer and we only improve ourselves more when we are just ourselves. Basically no one is like the other so why try to be better at what someone does better when all they’re doing is being their own being. Fear is also mentioned in this book and they tackle this throughout the book as well saying that fear is seen as a negative feature of people, but should really be used as an “engine starter.” That is mostly why this book inspires me not just entertains me.…

Wanting to fully understand the meaning behind existence in general. Why do we have routines that we make to be followed and lived by, family members, friends, or certain things that happen throughout everyday life. In the book he seems as if he does not want to or in a way avoids settling down with someone because that would mean he will have to sort of give up on not wanting to have a routine and a set way of life. Because eventually with time they will have to come up with some sort of day to day plan between work, family, time together, and time to just be alone. As far as he shows he does not want that at that very moment, if he ever does. He questions everything way too much in order to be at that place in his life, to be in a committed relationship. This is about the time when he becomes interested into movies and wants his life to be like them in ways. Then one day he went home and met his great aunt Emily for lunch and they began to talk about the importance of their loved ones. The conversation about their loved ones ended up changing and she begins talking to him about how she really wants him to go to medical school. But again, just like the relationship scenario, at this point in time in his life he is too worried about trying to understand what is the meaning of life and being stress free, to be focused on going to medical…

Along with adulthood comes responsibilities that many children are incapable of underholdning until they are forced into the real world with age. Childhood is a time of youth that brings happiness and color to the world. It only lasts so long, until the adjustments of teenhood hit and adulthood follows shortly behind. How people choose to cope with this adjustment determines their future forever. The novels My Antonia by Willa Cather’s, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and Greasy Lake by T.C Boyle all relate to each other under this broad topic, through transition from childhood into adulthood. Each author has chosen a significant way of explaining each character’s journey to adulthood from learning life experiences. There are various different…

This book makes me motivated and makes me not want to give up on my dream. It motivated me in a way to keep pushing for my dream. Don’t let drugs or people put you down just push past those and you’ll get through them. In the book a building was being built next to the football field where the two boys played football on. Without football the boys wouldn’t be who they are today. That’s the part of the book that motivated me the most. If I give up I won’t be able to achieve my…

The author tries to show the readers that the bare bones of all involved are revealed, unlikely couples are formed, and true strength comes from the stuff that makes life really matter: friendship and love (we all looked up). The book recommends itself for 14 and up, which I agree because 14 is the age where you start to hit puberty and really discover yourself. The characters in the book really help you relate to yourself. In a way, we each have a stereotype that we wish to disentangle ourselves from. The characters make lots of choices that had moral implications that the readers would most likely be able to relate to in terms of making the same mistakes. The plot really captivated me because the author put the book with a theme of reality. This really made me think of my high school experience and the typical stereotypes that are thrown out there.…

As a child, I was constantly held in high regard. Whether it was my parents gloating about my intellect, or how I was a “smart ass” at a young age. I was shaped by my parents; they always pushed me to strive to be ahead. My literary background was formed by my parents positively influencing my development through their own actions and guidance, my peers, and my own interest. My mother always gave me books and this influenced me to read often in my pre-teen years and has helped me with my ability to read. Although, in elementary school, being smart labeled you as a nerd and made you the bullies’ center of attention. Because of this, I became very lazy in an effort to shy their attention away from me and to make more friends. At home, however, I would love to read and would often lose myself in those livid pages, find myself stuck in other worlds. This negative expectation caused me to carry on this mindset through high school and allowed my grades, as well as my drive, to slip and a depreciation of my parents’ pride.…

The second section of the book is called Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams, the dedication is about dreams, and dreams are talked about throughout the whole book so he must have thought it was an important topic for the audience to take away. On page 31 it reads, “It’s important to have specific dreams.” That quote proves that he wanted the audience to realize the importance of dreams and set and achieve dreams and help others do the same. As this novel shows best, you should go after your dreams right away because you never know how much longer you have to achieve those dreams. A big take away I got from this message is if you have a dream don’t hesitate to go after it and don’t just go after it, but go after your dream with passion and…
