No period of time passes without leaving its mark on human history. It is uncommon, though, for a decade to be as transformative on a society as the 1970s – and closely related events in the 1960s and 1980s – were on the United States. The Vietnam war and the counterculture’s response reached their zenith. Environmentalism as a sociopolitical force found new and much stronger footing. The mobile phone and microprocessor, the foundations of large-scale modern telecommunications, were invented.…

In life, everyone struggles and things do not always turn out perfect like we want it to. Sometimes people have to take charge of their own life in order to succeed and be happy. In order to row your boat, or take charge of your life, you have to decide what you want in life and what it takes to get it. You have to row your own boat.…

When life throws you lemons, you squeeze them and make lemonade; just like in the poem “In the Long Hall”, when the young boy gets stuck in between the tapestry trying to move forward, but the tapestry continued to unravel behind him as he tried to move forward. This scenario really made it hard for the young boy to move forward with things. Sometimes in life things may get hard or difficult, but we have to continue to move forward and not let anything stop us. When you get in a difficult situation in life do not let the tapestry keep you stuck continue to move forward.…

Hey, I am born in Los Santos, Idlewood the 12 /05/ 1997 in All saints hospital. I've been growing up with both parents and my older brother in a safe home and parents that took care of me and never made me worried about anything. I past my High School with a lot of A's. I never got into trouble in my High School years, but it all went wrong when I moved away from my home. I moved to a little apartment in the market, not that long away from where I grew up. But it was different.Graffiti and gunshots were a part of everyday and every night too. I didn't really have any friends from High School because they all moved to other countries or cities, so I started on the streets. I met a guy named Johnny, who took me under his arms and took care of…

I found a video my mom had filmed of me crossing the wooden bridge. After watching it, I realized that those bridges were kind of like life. Both of the bridges got you to your end destination, but it was up to you to choose which one to take. One bridge is sturdy, safe, and predictable and the other is rickety, risky, and unpredictable. I could have picked the safe bridge, but then I probably won’t have a story to tell or have a video to watch. In life you make the choice on which path you take just like the bridges. If you pick the safe, predictable path you’ll miss out on a lot of things. You’ll never put yourself out there. You’ll never ask that girl or guy you like out because you don’t want your heart broken or never try to publish the novel you wrote because of fear of rejection. I realized that night that life is too short to always take the safe path. When I’m at the end of life I don’t want to think back on the life I lived and have a million what ifs. Sometimes you have to face your fears and cross that rickety wooden…

I have seen purpose and meaning of my life evolving over the five past years. Five years ago I was just a senior in high school, I had no idea what I would be doing five years from then.
