It has been made apparent to me that dark matter is more of a mystery than I had originally thought it was. I did not know that dark matter does not really have a direct definition. Trough this paper i learned about the origin of dark matter and how far back the idea occurred. Before i had a misconception that dark matter was a relatively new term, but I now understand when and how the concept was developed. I also learned about WIMPs and MACHOs which are both potential forms of dark matter. Previously I did not know that there was not a definite form of dark matter that had been discovered yet. I also was surprised by the percentage of the universe that dark matter makes up. I was unaware that normal matter made up so little of the universe and that it was insignificant compared to dark energy and …show more content…
According to my research it is the most similar to dark matter because it is invisible and effects the gravitational pull on other forms of matter. Either that or dark matter is made up of something that has yet been discovered. I am a firm believer that the universe is a mystery that will always have more secrets to be revealed about what it is made of and its origin. Recently strange signals were picked up by a European observatory that could have been the first detection of dark matter. I think ways like this are the only way the matter can be truly discovered. I feel that scientists get the best information from unexpected results and I think this is how scientists can continue to learn about dark matter. I would also suggest that scientist should look at how dark matter affects things around it to try and detect it. Through this way I think scientist would be able to find out more about dark matter and as a result learn more about the universe as a whole. The detection of dark matter could help to prove many other theories and would lead to more advancements in physics as
