It started in the 21st century around 2005 when a big switch in American culture came about by the Asian community. Racial identity is a big factor in which David cast a non-Asian actor which warms up to his fake identity and takes advantage and becomes a role model in the Asian community which upsets Hwang. I believe it to be a big problem though in the end because when it comes to race and popularity in race it shouldn’t matter we are all the same. characters.
Whatever your race is you have to connect with yourself and whatever role you choose try to reflect that character the best way the director sees it but at the end of the day you are stil you. Many actors let fame get to their head and power overcomes there judgements and this could end your career through deceit. The industry thrives on having you’re name being out there but most of all being untouched and it is truly important to identify with yourself. If you think about it not only through film but through life you have to find yourself and find what things or parts you fit into through out life. Yellow Face shows us that its no so bad being yourself and that lying and deceit has no part in entertainment or anything that matters.
