he emphasizes eating healthy, he never prevents us from eating unhealthy food. Instead he tells us that we can eat unhealthy food once in a while but if we do he wants us to exercise and eat nutritional food as well. Ever since I was little my mom has been cooking at home. She mostly cooks Spicy Indian food but occasionally she cooks some Chinese and Italian. Therefore I never needed to buy food from outside. I would always have my mom pack me lunch or I would pack myself leftovers. There are instances where I, like many other teenagers, like to sneak some fast food into my diet. For instance, after starting running start at BC my French Fries consumption temporarily increased but now I mostly just pack myself lunch from home or buy salad. Another time during which I eat a lot of fried food is during our holy month Ramadan. During this time we fast every day for a month from dawn to dusk. When dusk is approaching my mom makes a variety of delicious Indian snacks, all deep fried. If my mom’s friends invite us over for dinner during Ramadan they usually keep a variety of fried snacks for us to eat as well. It’s a treat for us children who were fasting all day and one we look forward to every year. Therefore, unlike many other teenagers, I have been brought up knowing about nutrition and the importance of eating healthy. I have been eating nutritious meals since I was little and have never found fast food to be a necessity for me. Fast food has always just been a little change, not a daily routine
